I have no suggestions to make, but I feel compelled to comment; Wonderful!
If you happen to offer this anywhere once you're satisfied with it, I'd love to have it!

Thread: How did you start buying content? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Back before the turn of the Millenium, I bought Poser 1, upgraded to 2, 3, and 4 and played around from time to time. Then bought the Pro upgrade to 4. Started to get into it after that. Bought a couple of misc content CD's from Zygote, including the Mil Woman. Then I got a full CD of Poser characters from CacheForce/Planet Poser. Played with those and various freebies until I encountered BBay, then found Zygote had spawned to DAZ3D, and stumbled over Renderosity from something I read at DAZ. Off and running ever since. Used to have a pretty well paying complex of jobs, and for a time I was spending $5k and more a year on content (mostly scenes and sets, to tell the truth, 'Tho I did get all the base Gen 1, 2, 3 & 4 figures from DAZ3D and some base textures and enough duds to use in most contexts). Economy crapped out, 2 of my businesses closed, and now I have to watch my pennies.  92% of my "aquisitions" now are freebies.

Thread: Looking for a listing of history of Poser characters, native and after-market? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - keeping track of all of the various figure types (animals, toons, humans, humanoids, objects, tentacles, monsters, and so on/so forth) would probably be an impossible task. Consider all of the figures being created internationally and within subcultures or subgenres of Poser use.
Â
Quite true, but I'd be happy to find a listing of commonly available (freebie or commercial) human original meshes.Â

Quote - There used to be an entry for Poser Figures on the Wikipedia, but it was removed. Here is the final version before it was pulled...

. . . That's the one I was thinking of - There are so many new original mesh figures popping up all the time, with there was one central up-to-date site or list to consult.
Thank!

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this link.
I searched 2 hours over at RDNA last night but never found this!
Guess I'm not as familliar with how to search effectively over there as I used to be.

Update - The Transpond/Judith set is called Heaven, and it's under $7 now - I can't find the Traveler props in freestuff there, but quite a few of his old Props Club items have appeared in the RDNA Newsletters as Newsletter Freebies.

Transpond did some several years back. I think the package was "Heavenly" or something of that nature.
Traveller did some simple ones for his late, lamented Prop Club, too.
Transpond and Traveller are currently vendors at RDNA.
I think the Heavenly set is on a permanant markdown (Freeze?) there.
Traveller's Islands may be available in the RDNA freestuff, if I recall correctly.
Good Rendering.

Thread: Daz generations/families of figures list? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

Wow! Thank you all so much - Such quick responses!Anyone have a link to that thread (those threads?) comparing morph and texture compatibilities from some months back?
Thinking back I just remember my expiriments applying a V2 & 23 M2 textures on the new (at the time) Stephanie figure and the thread I posted the resultant pics in back in 2002 - as they were basically the same mesh, they lined up pretty closely other than some oddness at the nipples & brows, I think.

At least they encourage discussions which can't be simply answered by "switch gamma correction on" :-)
Well gamma correction does cure 90% of all ills :)
