Isn't that Brit slang for "Hello, weather's great, how are you, the kids are doing well in school, how's the Mum, want to get together for dinner this weekend"?
Thread: UV Mapping .obj Files - How? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - you all forgot the steps where you sacrifice the black cockerel. and the UVmapping dance you perform painted in Woad.
Followed your additional directions but it's left me feeling a little blue.....ah well, the herb roasted chicken will help there.

Oh I don't mistake you for a politician I just believe you would be more successful at politics than software development.....
But anyway neither of us is going to budge on the issues...You indicate repeatedly that there are no issues in one breath then in the next claim the forthcoming upgrade will fix the problems and me, until you deliver a piece of software that works as claimed, I will continue to maintain my stance.
However due to the insinuation you made in an open forum regarding a serial # when attempting to upgrade to FS 3.5, I won't ever be one of your customers again....you make it personal, I take it personal. Though, should you ever produce a viable version of the software, I will extend the courtesy of refraining to tell others to avoid you and your products.
Cheer up, way things are looking you'll probably win by default without having to provide the product in good working order.

Ah stability....return from a stay in the hospital and things are exactly as they were.....the claims are made for the program but the results don't reflect the claims, a challenge was made and accepted by several but fizzled when some structure was requested to make it an actual viable challenge, all things program related are explained away as user error but the next release will fix all the "issues", and on and on and on....SSDD
Ya know Laslo, as a person you make a real good politician so why not drop the snake oil you're selling and go where the real money trough is, gov't.
Thread: Exporting multiple objects OSX BLDNR 2.48 | Forum: Blender
Blender does export multiple objects but in one file as mentioned repeatedly, Poser just doesn't have the capability to separate the files on import.....soooo wouldn't that be the mighty Poser that fails?
Seriously though I understand what you want to do and Blender does not currently support batch exporting of OBJ files with the exception of animation frames.
The way around this is to follow nruddocks suggestion about scripting on the Poser end. You could adapt the Wavefront obj importer from Blender to Poser Python specs.
The advantage would be you would import 1 object file that is separated by the script as opposed to exporting multiple separate objects and importing them individually.
Pret-a-3d would be the one to ask on this since he knows the scripts pretty well. Contact him here on Renderosity.

Sounds reasonable, hash out the details and I'm in.
To make the challenge more valid an unbiased 3rd party should select the person and provide the reference photos. This would eliminate variances in photo reference quality as a factor and ensure that participants had an equal start .
The results would also need to be posted anonymously in some way to eliminate the "popularity" factor from the judging so the decision would be based solely on the merits of the results.

Ah....Fakeshop or is it FaecesShop? Blasted app is like herpes, just keeps coming back even though it's not something anybody would really want.
Ever noticed it's always the same three tired renders that are used to claim it works as advertised in direct opposition to the much more numerous experiences that it does not?

Thread: Partner wanted | Forum: DAZ|Studio
When you say textured do you mean separated into material zones according to the 3ds layers or UV map textured? The distinction will make a significant impact on the model turn-around and the likelihood of finding a partner.
Another consideration, on models like the one in the first post do you expect conversion into an articulated poseable figure?(wheels rotate - turn, struts move, antennas track, etc)
If you are wanting to simply provide static props in OBJ format it would be easier and more cost effective to handle that on your end by also exporting the model in OBJ from your modeling program rather than converting from 3ds.
I hate to say it because your models are well done but at the prices they are selling for minus Renderosity's cut the percentage left to divide doesn't make it an attractive offer considering the work involved if you expect more than a simple static prop with material zones.

Check out Blacksmith3d and Blender2.49
Blacksmith3D is Poser figure friendly and has a freeware version of the paint portion of the suite so you can try it out.
Blender2.49b is free, handles projection painting pretty well but is less than Poser friendly ATM.
You can paint on a 3D model in Adobe PhotoShop CS4 Extended also. However, it is still an immature addition to PhotoShop and kind of a PITA to use.
Thread: How to make a morph.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The dial spun part has to be done first to provide the base for the further morphing in the external application. This can be handled without violating the EULA.
Load V4
spin up the dials
export the dialed object
import into modeling app
make the changes desired
extract those changes from the dialed object (this is your crafted morph data only)
create a morph from the extracted data
include readscript lines to call Morphs++ and load the morphs
Use of the created character then requires the end user to have V4 and Morphs++, staying within the EULA as interpreted.

Where do you get the Compose program?
home.tir.com/~johnwind/Compose11.zip
You will need to have Java on your machine in order for Compose to run.
Shout if you run into any problems.
Thread: Question: the Grouping Tool | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Q: the Grouping Tool
A: pure unadulterated evil
(Will work for this simple operation, just follow BB's directions, but for anything more complex group externally using a program that has better selection tools.)
Thread: Creating Full Body Morphs for Poser Figures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That works but is a PITA.
By creating an FBM INJ/REM pose set externally from Poser you can avoid loading each body part individually. It's pretty simple, heck I learned how to create FBMs before I even had Poser.

Yes, you can make morphs for non-human figures with any of the aforementioned programs.
The figure will need to have unused injection channels to accept the morph data. You may have to create the channels for some figures, there are several ways to accomplish this if necessary.
Personally I use Compose to create a joined and vertex mapped copy of a figure to sculpt on. It's an extra step but it ensures that the vertex order is maintained across multiple apps saves all that wasted time caused by exploding morphs. Another benefit is that it automates part of the transfer process.
My usual workflow is Compose>Blender>Zbrush>Compose>Poser's Little Helper>Poser/DS
Compose to create the joined vertex mapped figure.
Blender to do the gross sculpting
ZBrush for the fine detail
Compose to transfer the morphed object back to the original grouping (vertexes in order)
Poser's Little Helper to create the INJ/REM poses
Poser/DS to use the morphs.
Poser's Little Helper is free and, as mentioned by lesbentley, very fast after the initial set-up.
You have to create a .mic file of the figure which is a simple text file of the available channels saved with the .mic extension and a project file for the figure.
Once that has been accomplished select the .mic file and the project file from the lists, load the original figure, load the morphed figure, select which channel you will use, name the channel and dial, then proceed to create your INJ, REM, & VIS poses by clicking the appropriate buttons. PLH has documentation that covers the process more in-depth.
There are several other apps that can create the INJ poses so you can use whichever suits you.
Compose is also free but will require Java to run.
