Thanks for the nice tut, Krewz. But wouldn't it be easier to just drop the animation into DS then use the Poser Export function, or if you have C7 Beta, drop the DS file into Carrara? This is assuming you don't have dynamic clothing of course...

If you need help you should be more specific. The white screen sounds like a memory issue, for instance. How much system memory are you running and what kind of video card?

Global warming is going to stay rediculous or at least mostly in the black hole of what if, as long as politics dominate it. They are equally rediculous if not worse.
Reminds me of a another movie "day after tomrrorow" they said at first.."naw that will take a thousand years", then it was one hundred..what is it now..like maybe 2050?
Uhm...not to get into a flamewar, but he was one of the few science thinkers who believed global warming was a fraud, and that was the stain on his legacy, IMO. :)

If you're new to 3D I encourage you to avoid Maya or Max for now. They are capable of amazing things once you know how to get under the hood, so to speak. But that is one deep, complex hood to get under...
All the major 3D apps come with some sort of cel shading, usually as a separate plug in.
For a low cost way to do what you're planning, you may want to look into Carrara. Not only does it have a very inexpensive yet user friendly cel shading plug (40 bucks I believe), but it can also do terrains, skies, dynamics and basically all the stuff you can do in Vue. In addition you should be able to not only load poser animations but render out in layers, which you'll need to do for compositing your toon fg against your 3D bg.

I dunno...Poser is still the champ when it comes to its highly user-friendly animation palette and graph. And the animation tools in DS are nice but still very buggy IMO. Animate is a very cool tool, but I still see DS as an adjunct to Poser, not a replacement.
Throw in the lack of interface with major 3D apps and I'd say DS is still pretty far behind.

Seems like after you launch it as admin a few times, it sticks, but I'm sure there's a better way to configure it...just haven't had the chance to set that up yet on my computer...

Make sure you right click your .exe poser icon in Vista and select "run as administrator", otherwise all kinds of weird things and crashes/closes happen.
