Btw the geometry attached to the ghost bones was a requirement of the early versions og poser weight mapping if I recall. It's been a while...

Would you not just create a separate firefly shader based on a regular poser root node.
When it renders in firefly it uses that shader and when it renders in superfly it works off the superfly root.

Oops I found a problem - it seems that Firefly doesn't understand the SeparateRGB node.
Is there any way to separate them with math nodes? Nodes that aren't from Cycles? This will be a store product - I need it compatible with Firefly and Superfly.

I think what would go a long way would be an official statement from rendo on the current state of things, direction and future plans, even if there are not a lot of definites to report at this point

Funny. I keep hearing from a very small number of people that JCMs are only needed for 'people who don't know how to rig'. But I never see them display any evidence of it in a figure that is remotely appealing or marketable. It's fine to critique, but when you are constantly bashing the skill level of others, but aren't demonstrating anything better it's hard to really view it with much credibility

So what does this mean for poser 12? Is the dev team being retained or is this a start over from scratch situation?

For buttons specifically, I've had success with just painting the entire button the exact same weight. I haven't used it extensively but where I have the button moves with the underlying mesh but does not deform. Not sure if this would work in all situations. And I could see larger buttons becoming more problematic

As a community, people need to collectively push SM to overhaul the cloth room. The current cloth engine is 15 years old. It's 2019, dynamic cloth should work (nearly) real-time and seamlessly and intuitively in Poser. It would solve most Poser problems right away. There would be no 'Steampunk Dress for Sheila v3.2 (fits for 3 FBMs included)'. There would just be a 'Steampunk Dress'. Period. You could fit it to any figure past present and future, including any morphs, and it would drape like proper clothing should drape. You would see a much wider variety of clothing and people would take more risks regarding content.
This. This alone should be the primary focus of poser 12. Also hair room.
Also: At the risk of being one of those people who pesters you for specialized stuff... GND Shae was mindblowingly awesome... Any chance of a similar character for Lafemme in the future?

Whew! That was scary. I haven't had four V4s loaded in a scene in a long time. I must say my computer held up well, although it is begging for a glass of water right now.

Lol
Wow if this is what you want in your renders then go nuts... What I don't get is why people who want... Well whatever the heck that is in your renders... Feel the need to relentlessly drone on about it in every new figure thread. If I go into a store and I see something I'm not keen on buying guess what I do... I just don't buy it. What I don't do, and what almost everyone doesn't do, is pester everyone within range and force them to acknowledge me not buying it. The reason I don't do this is that I know that... And please let this sink in.... NOBODY F@#KING CARES! seriously!? What's the point? What do you get out of it? Attention? Just like to tear others down?

I'm really optimistic with this figure. I like the way you guys went about the launch. No pre-hype. Just a really good figure with some great assets available and a trusted team right out of the gate. I'm sure you are all tremendously proud of your accomplishment here and you should be.
As much as some people post history consists mostly of bashing new figures, mine probably comes across as a new figure cheerleader... But I can't help it!!
Having seen first hand how much goes into these things with the poserplace crew, I can only be greatful and appreciative of anyone who's willing and able to run that gauntlet whether the end result suits my tastes or not... In this case I think you knocked it out of the park.

I have a question: How many subdivion levels deep do the HD morphs go? If that makes sense... Or to put it differently at what subdivision level is the maximum detail gained.
Seriously loving the HD morphs.

I'm seriously impressed with the HD morphs.
I felt evolution was an amazing figure but Lafemme with the HD morphs takes it to a new level.
I'm a little unsure of the usage of the two extend morphs. Obviously used in bending, but what do you do when only one limb is extended, seems like they each apply to both left and right together.

I am just afraid that support for her will die down. I already got so burned with Scarlett! For some of us, the price is rather high... but I am sure she is worth every penny. How easily can V4 stuff be coverted to PE? And what poses work, if any?
I probably should hold my peace but I have to take issue with the statement that the price is 'rather high'.
I'd say the contrary, that the price is rather low for whats included. Many 'characters' for other figures are nearly as much by themselves and Evolution comes with several characters built in, not to mention great quality textures/shaders, a very good hair and diverse poses. Aside from clothing I would be surprised if I need to acquire add on product for a few months, and when I do the products I look at will have a pretty high standard to live up to whats included in the base set.
Its a fair concern about 'support' (but I'm not beating that dead horse :) ) but if 24$ is outside your budget then one of a few things is happening;
btw 'you' is used in the general sense and is not meant to make any specific suggestion regarding the poster to whom I replied for this post.
