There probably are ways to figure it out by probing the users machine with test cookies and such ... but I'd really rather not, and I'm sure our members would agree. :) Personally, I despise sites that want to set all kinds of cookies on my machine, that's why we don't do that on PoserPros. Just a simple login cookie is all we use. And all membership sites need cookies enabled to be able to track your login from page to page.

Catlin, a website has no idea when your browser is not accepting a login cookie from it. The website sends it, and what the browser does with it is under your control, not the website. :) But, I'm glad you were able to figure it out. Russell

catlin_mc, thanks for posting your login issues to the PoserPros Site Feedback forum. I don't always see our site issues when posted on another site. ;) jehllm, the login cookie is simply the phpBB forum software's login cookie. I have done nothing to modify it from the default as it came with the software. I'm sorry it's not working for you. Generally the problem is that the cookie has become corrupted and can no longer log you in. Simply deleting any cookie from PoserPros usually clears up the problem. Sometimes the browser creates two cookies, one with the "www" and one without. If anyone continues to have problems logging in, please feel free to work with me directly and I'll do what I can to help you get logged in, russell@poserpros.com. Russell
Thread: Why Has This Site Always Been Slow?? | Forum: Community Center
AgentSmith: "Right now we have 1,464 logged in members, and that doesn't include any linked pages that are being requested from non-members, etc. On weekends I'll sometimes see 2,000+ members logged in." Those are not "members" logged in, they are browser sessions, both members and non-logged in surfers. If you open two browser windows, you get counted twice. Many other sites actually do count "members" and "guests", R'osity is not one of them. ;) For a count of R'osity's "members logged in" visit this page actually listing the members names and you'll see a different count. At the bottom you'll see "members logged in" and even some of those are listed twice. For example, right now the count at the top of the page is 1719. On the member page it's 1237. Removing duplicate members it's down to around 1000. Russell

DarklingWear by Netherworks can be found in the PoserPros store. RussellThread: DAZ FORUM ONLINE -- AND IT ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Same here xoconostle and wdupre. I get around to pretty much all the sites ... and have now added the DAZ Forums to my daily visit list. We've already christened the Pub ... err ... what's left of it anyway. ;)
Thread: Customer concern re merchants moving products to Poser Pros | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
Spit, a customer's redownloads will be handled by the store where the product was originally purchased. Renderosity already does this, as do we. Even if the product is removed. However, the merchant will have to coordinate updates to their previous customers. If they have an issue getting out the update, we may be able to assist them if necessary. We do generally have a better distribution capability than a merchant and would not be above helping get an update out if needed to their previous customers. Russell

I doubt you'd want to eat any of this stuff. :) It's called TCDD, the most toxic of the 75 related forms of dioxin, an extremely hazardous waste material.Thread: Question: For Merchants Who Are Leaving | Forum: Community Center
tammymc: "Please remove our ad and please let us know once you have." The free Renderosity banner ad running on PoserPros has been removed per your request. Russell

Thread: Question: For Merchants Who Are Leaving | Forum: Community Center
dialyn: "Let's count how many sites advertise their competitors for free. Hmmm...I can't think of any" I can. PoserPros runs free banner ads for Poser community websites, including Renderosity. Free advertising for competitors. dialyn: "But Renderosity does let merchants from any site advertise for free in the Product Showcase." PoserPros does not restrict advertising in any way, not even to a specific forum. Threads are not moved around, posts are not deleted. And if one of our merchants left, they could freely post the information to their customers via any means available on PoserPros to let their customers know where they went. It's all about community. Who is, and who isn't.
Thread: Site slow | Forum: Community Center
Ah, that certainly helps explain it. Thanks. (The extra-thick sarcasm wasn't really needed though.)

mit123: "My last post doesn't make any sense now cos Mr. Wolf has removed his pic." I wouldn't count on that. Here is another screenshot of the same error that can't be "disappeared" like so many posts around here at times. Of course whether this post stays or not ... ;) They don't want you to know that they track info on folks like me, one of their "competitors".
Thread: HEADS UP...Some of your favorite merchants are leaving Rosity | Forum: Community Center
"Not sure at all about the tracking... I'm not aware of it." Yeah, I didn't really think you would have involved yourself in the immoral task of tracking your own members' movements. But as you can surely understand, as someone who is surely on such a list, it does concern me as to the information Renderosity might be gathering about me. (TOS updated?) "Yea - I dont know whats wrong with our DB...it has bogged and died a few times today. :(" Just tell Tim he deserves better than MySQL as this stage of Renderosity's life. MySQL should be relegated to small sites like mine. :) You guys oughta move to Oracle or Sybase or DB2 or something. Ah well, just a thought. You certainly have the hardware to heft it up. :) Hope your weekend looks better going forward. Russell
