Maybe not helping here, but i'm gonna stick it out this time with all the updates. Currently i still have a G5 PPC Mac running OS X 10.4.9 (not even intel) and Vue Inf 7.21.

My plan is to wait until the Mac version of Vue is fully 64bit and working flawlessly (!) on the system.
Only then will i buy a new Mac Pro (or whatever it's name will be at that time) and will i upgrade my Vue Inf licence.

But to be honest about it... i will envy the lot off ya who allready can play with these latest upgrades on the Vue side and on the computer side :-)

I keep everything on the hard drive. These days they are big enough to just let it stay up there. If i buy a new computer in a few years from now, i only will install the latest version obviously :-)

If you set the quality boost in the displacement settings to -3 it renders a lot faster. I think this will be easier on the RAM too (not sure)

Note that although you set the quality boost to -3, you really can't see a difference in quality loss.

Well not to go off topic here but what about Poser ? Sometimes when i look at people i start thinking... i would re-dial that body part and put some other hair on the head... LOL

As far as Vue goes, i also think a lot in that term when i see a view in nature and instantly i begin to place that scene into Vue in my mind :lol:

I agree with thefixer on this subject. Just use the scale and translate dials and you are good to go !
Oh and sometimes a magnet can do wonders also ;-)

Here 's my setup:
PowerMac (PPC) G5 dual 2.3GHz with OSX 10.4.9 and 4.5GB RAM with an NVIDIA GeForce 6600 video card. I have Vue Infinite 7.21-04 build 39290 and it is pretty stable (crashes are rare but occasionally do happen)
As you can see i'm way behind on soft- and hardware updates but, i'm also sticking with this setup until Mac OSX with 64 bit is 100% integrated and Vue Infinite will work flawlessly in 64 bit on the Mac. If the time is right, only then i will buy a new Mac running OSX 64 bit and plenty RAM and only then will i buy/upgrade to Vue 8 (or mayby 9 by that time)

But basically at this moment Vue runs fine on my machine, the only drawback i get is that the more i wanna do in Vue, the slower things get due to the 32 bit and the current RAM on the PowerMac.

So as far as i understand it, it is somekind of an interface, correct ?
Apparently you can install it on a Mac (did a Google search) but i would first have to install "TclTkAqua" for some reason.

I 'm no python expert so i will have to investigate a bit more before i blindly install these python thingies.

Sometimes after creating some riff, i'm stuck with it for days before i can make it to a good use in a song. And then when i do make a song out of it... i'm so tired of hearing the same thing over and over again for the 100th time that i throw it away LOL :-)

I hear a lot of Jean Michel Jarre fx in the songs, are these from a sample cd or from a vst(i) plugin ?

I'm also a music composer and play guitar and keyboard and record my stuff in Pro Tools and Logic.
Made a lot of songs until i discovered 3D and then everything went to hell LOL !

I 'd wish i had the talent to make songs like yours !
