If anyone is having this problem, here's a screenshot showing the entire path to the setting:
Thread: Toon renders and hair textures... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Never mind, it was under object style(was a prop, not a figure), and I set it to texture shaded and solved my problem.
Thanks...
I have honestly been looking for a solution to this for years. Now I know, and I won't forget.

Sorry guys, either I am misunderstanding you or what you're saying isn't working.
From what I understand you guys want me to change universal settings, but that not helping me.
I need to change a setting on the model itself, the hair model, not the entire scene, and I am not seeing how to do that.

....I'm getting the exact same error, I'm using Chrome, latest update(updated yesterday)...
....screenshot of the error page:
....also, opening the page source and searching out a direct link to the zip file, and then navigating directly to that address gives the same error.

Another tip: if setting it Deep does not immediately bring up all the files you searched for, switch back to the Library window while still searching, and then back to your active Search. The program needs a few seconds to refresh. It's an annoying quirk Poser 11.2 introduced and I cannot figure why it happened, but it takes a lot longer for it to find stuff. BUT it finds them, it just needs that trick for completing the search.
Wow, that actually worked!!!!
What in the Holy Hand Grenade is happening here?!!!
....now if I could just turn the auto suggest off, and get it to highlight the entire word in the search panel with a single swipe, so a single backspace gets me back to typing. I know that sounds minor, but it's honestly major disruption to my workflow. No one want to click at the end of a long word and then hit backspace twelve times to eliminate it, just let me me select the entire phrase and start typing again.
....oh, and thanks for the tip, I can't believe that actually worked.

I'm set on deep. It's not those settings as far as I can tell.
Here's an example. If I search for the term "hair" in Poser 10(same exact runtimes as Poser 11), and tick "figures", "hair", and "props"...
I come up with these results:
...note that the scroll bar has shrunk considerably because its finding hundreds of things with the word "hair" in it, literally hundreds, including numerous "chairs" because chair contains the word "hair"...
...also note that I can expand the folders from the search panel without having to click "locate" and then dig through multiple runtimes, with thousands of items in each one, and also no indication of where that folder might be in those runtimes, I have to scroll up and down to find the folder I just told it to find--granted it's highlighted, but come on, that would be relatively minor if I only had one runtime with a handful of items, but I've got multiple runtimes dating back over twenty years now(Poser and later DAZ)...
....now the same search in Poser 11:
....note, there's only a handful of folders, no actual items, and no way to browse those folders from the search panel.
My settings have been on "deep" since I installed it, and it's had plenty of time to index the folders.
Thread: Normal map creating odd shadows.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

Normal maps are working pretty good in superfly, i am using on the most of my render normal maps.
Here you can see a very basic setup for normal maps. You can use normal maps only and you can use bump and normalmaps together.
That helped. I had no idea there were all the cycles nodes in Poser now. I just got 11 few weeks back and haven't really had a lot time to be poking around under the hood yet. Simply using the cycles image and plugging into gradient bump did wonders. I had to push the value up a bit, but the improvement massive. Now my leather looks like someone has actually been walking in it, and is no longer stiff and plastic looking. Much thanks.
....now to get the thread looking right:

Normal maps can produce different results in Superfly, Firefly and Preview as the tangent basis in each is different - see this link http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Normal_Map_Technical_Details#Tangent_Basis (Superfly uses MikkT which is the most common; Blender is probably using this for baking). Tangent basis is not the same as tangent space, and nothing to do with OpenGL/DirectX either.
Much simpler to use a height map in Poser ;)
Baked normals are really useful for making other maps to use when texturing though, e.g. curvature.
Thanks for the link--good reading--clarified a few things for me.

It doesn't work as expected in Firefly, but the shadows look good. In Superfly it just goes all wonky. I'll probably just convert it to a bump at this point. I've been fiddling with it for hours, and getting nowhere. It looks great in Blender, was hoping to get the same effect in Poser, but I may be hoping for too much.

In the physical root node, change the transparency mode to Opacity instead of transparency. And uncheck colored transparency.
....thanks, that got it working, I also had to set specular to zero as well.
...is there a way to have everything default to that--short of changing the settings and re-saving all of my models that way?

I found that feature to be very aggressive, it decompresses everything in your Poser library. Really use with caution. I have Winrar installed on my machine and I can direct Windows to use it to open and decompress those files.
I simply ran it on the folder with LaFemme in it, not my entire Runtime, or the the various other Runtimes I have scattered about--just the single folder. I honestly don't think I have enough disk space to uncompressed all of my Runtime folders.

La Femme obj is in the RPublishing folder in geometries. You'll need to decompress the .obz into an .obj... there is a script within poser, under utility, called uncompressPoserFiles. Use that to get an obj. Poser breaks the mesh into parts by group when you export from a scene and a figure. Thus you're getting duplicate vertices at the group breaks. Either work from the model obj in geometries or the figure as a "prop" within the scene. This should solve your problem. If you're still having problems I'll show you how to create a FBM for La Femme in Blender. But I think you'll be ok if you follow my above suggestions. You might also want to scale up the model by 100% to sculpt and then scale down to original for export back to Poser. Blender's sculpt tools will work better with a larger model...
....BINGO!!!!
Thanks, I feel so much better now...
....yeah I'm used to bringing body parts into Blender, morphing and returning, generally no issues, and yeah I used to scale up, but since 2.8, it's been much simpler.
Again thanks, you nailed it.

if the original is obz.. copy it rename the extension from obz to zip , then extract the obj from the zip file.
Nope, but I thought it sounded good. Warning says "The compressed(zipped)folder".../....zip" is invalid .
...also tried simply changing it to obj, also not working.

In Poser make sure you hide those handles (dont know if that matters but i dont like seeing them anyway)
...what handles? I have everything unticked, except export as morph target:
I still get the error message: "Target geometry has wrong number of vertices"
...and it's directly out, and directly back in, no changes made.
