Hmmm.....another way is to adjust the floor tile, say that every 3 squares is actually a meter, and go from there. Make the cube prop into a ruler that matches the squares....etc. I've been using Lightwave for a short while and even though it will convert between metrics and feet and inches, I've found that the measurements really are mostly practical when building a scene, but the viewer of the final render will have no way of really knowing if everything is to scale anyway, (unless you are designing something like a court re-enactment or something like that.)

Thanks. Actually, I would just make a flickering type effect in Lightwave using envelopes. I haven't seriously considered doing it in Poser. You could try orange or yellow low intensity lights dancing back and forth aimed at your figures to simulate the effect. I could try that and let you know the settings. I suppose if I get it right, I could make a bvh file for it. I would really like to see if there is enough interest in this.

Hi. I hope this helps. I have been using Poser since 3, and done a lot with Poser 4. When I wanted to get more into modeling, I went ahead and got Carrara Studio. The built in fire thing is awesome! Later, I took the jump up to Lightwave, and now I'm able to do smoke as well. I haven't actually tested animated materials in Lightwave as much yet, and I've heard so many complaints about Poser5, that I'm probably going to wait until things are patched u. So I'm guessing that making an .avi or gif or whatever would be used a texture/surface/material whatever? I'm going to make some more things tonight. I had thought about making some fire/effects things available in the Marketplace, if there is enough demand for it. This is a hastily done render with the fire as the .avi background, with the P4 skeleton, just for a quick view. Please let me know if you think it would be worthwhile to continue this...Thanks.Thread: P5 Reflections - a black art? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Looking good. Something I don't understand from working with Poser for 3 years is why they never made reflections as easy as it is in Bryce, since there seems to be a lot of users who use both. Just my 2 cents.

Yes, I got a bit of lava spilled on me when I made a very long gripe about certain things that I was battling in P4 a couple of years ago. I'm sure that I went overboard with it by ranting about things like freaky elbow bends, plastic hair and clothing, but now actually some things that I touched on have made it into the app! So our wishlist posts sometimes have sway, and yeah, I've worked with computers for a bout 20 years so I'm used to the little varmints that make the ole' pc occasionally hiccup. But I'm about ready to jump on up to P5 and wade a little deeper into the 3D stream....Yeeehaaaw!!!Thread: AAAARGH!! Help with texture on new figure pleeease.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks, but I seem to remember already using the UV Mapper and it didn't seem to work there either, but I guess I can give it another try...

I was going to try parenting a front paw to a back paw so they move in tandem, but haven't tried it yet. Same goes for the horse. Seems like it would work thoughThread: Lighting Question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

I've used a spotlight inside of a mostly transparent object before, turned in the general direction that you want the light source to be coming from. Seems to work ok. Also, you can use multiple spotlights inside the object with higher reflective values.Thread: looking for comic background music noise | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

I try to do my own sound effects. I have a drum machine, synthesizer, and guitar. Give me a reference and how many seconds, if it should be looped, etc. and I may be able to come up with something. Check my site on the music page for little half done projects to see if anything would be useful.Thread: Poser Ready Castle. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

Man, am I glad I saw this. I had just posted a request for Karate and Kung Fu clothing before I saw this. Sorry I don't know where to get any at the moment, but if you find anything let me know, please. I say that instead of putting up another post to distract from yours. Happy Posing

You could also just scale the snake very large in proportion to the head part, and get every thing scaled according to your surroundings, ie if you have it near a ship, make the ship small or whatever. Good luck.
