I've only recently started using Morph Manager and I now realise what I've been missing out on. Can't wait to get the latest version. Many thanks, Maz

I'm afraid that this is a 'feature' of Poser. Morph World are looking at the problem and so is Torino for his Evolution figure, but it seems it's not trivial to fix. C'est la vie.

It's some time since I downloaded and used this figure but when you unzip you are asked what directory to unzip to. From Phil's instructions you need to unzip to ..................Metacreations (where you insert the drive and directory structure that you have installed Metacreations to) Below that will be Poser4runtime and so on and unzipping should put various files in various places as required. If it doesn't work, you'll probably find that WinZip has created created a new directory called Metacreations with various new directories under it. Just copy this whole lot to the original Metacreations directory.

Hi nerd, Listening loud and clear. Unfortunately Mover doesn't understand meshes or vertices, it just compares two files on a byte by byte basis. When I've recovered from Christmas I'll see if I can give some thought to the problem, but don't hold your breath. It would have to be a completely new program, and may well turn out to be impossible. Even if possible it may be too difficult for me as I don't know the mechanism that Poser actually uses when morphing. It's great to see all the creative thought that goes on around here though. Cheers, Maz

I also reckon it's worth getting optical zoom if you can, though that generally pushes the price up. No doubt in two years time they'll be half the price or less.

Hmmm. Very worrying. I wonder if there will be a management buy out of Poser etc, or will it be up for grabs. Let's hope poser lives on in some form or other. Maz
Thread: How do you create PHI files? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Damn, the indenting disappeared when I posted the reply. it should have looked like this: 1 mainbit yzx .......2 secondbit yzx ..............3 thirdbit yzx ....................4 lastbit yzx .......2 anothersecondbit You should use spaces not dots. Happy posing Maz
Thread: How do you create PHI files? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
In the absence of phibuilder you can do it handraulically with a text editor. Here's a phi file for an obj file called poserthing.obj which is stored in the Mazstuff directory. Not the upper and lower case letters. Poser is very case sensitive and this is a major source of errors. objFile :Runtime:Geometries:Mazstuff:poserthing.obj 1 mainbit yzx 2 secondbit yzx 3 thirdbit yzx 4 lastbit yzx 2 anothersecondbit The first line tells the hierarchy converter where to find the related obj file. I stress again, get the case right. The next line defines the major part of the object that everything else is connected to. In a human this is the hip, in this object it is mainbit. Labouring the point again, case must be the same in obj and phi files. The next line (beginning with 2) describes a part that is directly connected to the main part. The line beginning with 3 describes a part that is directly connected to the second part, and so on. There are two lines beginning with 2 because this particular object has two parts connected to the main part. The indenting of different lines is to make it easier for you to understand the hierarchy that you are describing. Poser doesn't care whether it's there or not. The yzx at the end of each line defines the main, secondary and third axes of rotation. For the time being don't worry about it until you've got the hang of the basics. It's as simple as that. I suggest you look at a few phi files and their associated obj files in a text editor and you'll get the hang of it. Start with small ones.
Thread: Conforming Clothes? I need a little help please :O) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've tried modifying the skirt in Max and I found that if I import in obj format Max crashes every time. Probably a problem with Habware rather than Max but who knows? No problem in 3ds though. Anyone else found this?

Terrific Phil, but as a physicist by training I feel duty bound to point out that the reflection should lean the other way (lateral inversion is the technical term) e.g. when you wave your left hand, the reflection in the mirror waves its right hand. Unless of course it's a reflection in a mirror seen in another mirror!
