Are you working on a PC or Mac? On Mac there are still some importing problems that should be fixed by e-on. (See a few postings below).
Thread: Confirm probs on MacOSX Vue 4.1 | Forum: Vue
Oooops, that might be a problem for me to manage since I don't have enough space left on my OSX partition to install the classic environment, Poser AND Vue. Walther, did you ever try to open a "more detailed" figure. In your example you used the ordinary Poser dude. The figures I like to import are much more detailed and use several props. If you wnat to know what I'm talking about please have a look at my gallery - especially the two images called "The Rescue - WIP". Steve, if you're reading this thread, please provide us Mac users with a workaround/hint how we could fix these problems. Many thanks, Phil
Thread: Confirm probs on MacOSX Vue 4.1 | Forum: Vue
Hi, I did some testing yesterday evening, but still no satifying results with the Poser Import on OSX... Here's what I did: Installed a Poser without any addons on my OSX partition. The installation with all models in it remained on my regular 3D purpose partition. Afterwards I opened Vue and tried to import the figure which was generated with the 3D partition version of Poser. Vue started to import, but after finishing the import the figure was invisible (!). Vue said there was a figure but you couldn't even see the box around the object. So I'm asking myself, what's going on? I'm using the German version of Poser4 (4.0.3), but I can't believe that might cause the problem. Another "funny thing" I found out was the fact that the newly installed version of Poser starts within the classic environment of OSX. But as soon as you ad any stuff -no matter if it would be characters, props or poses- Poser refuses to start. You have to reboot within the classic environment to get Poser back to work. Walther, if you read this: Could you provide us other desperate Mac users with further details how you managed the import. Are Vue and Poser within the same partition? Are they on the same partition like any of you system folders (OSX or Classic)? Do you save the figures you wnat to import on the same partition? Please excuse my curiousity, but at last I want to have the same features/possibilities like the PC users of Vue have. And you seem to be a really lucky guy since you got this thing working. ;o) Many thanks, Phil

Hi, same problem for me, too. Poser 4.0.3 and newest version of Vue. Already contacted E-On. Hopefully they have a workaround. I'm really diappointed after all. I don't understand why E-On releases a press announcement and we still have the same problems as before.... I'm really curious what their statement will look like. The most frustrating thing is the fact that the scenery for my next image is ready in Vue and the Poser figures are ready , too. So they just have to be put together. E-On please help!!! Phil

Don, I'm really sorry hear about your loss. Shawn is with the angels now - that's for shure. You know, I'm not really a religious person, but I believe in angels and a higher force. Some called fate or destiny. And I'm shure of the fact that your beloved daughter is in a better place now. Everytime I hear about things happening like this I think to myself: "Live every day of your life like it would be your last one on mother earth. Do all the things you want to do. Never say something like 'I'll do this or that someday.'" Since the day I met my wife live's been really special for me. It's much more intense these days. I enjoy things I never thought of before like having a good glass of wine or having a walk in the woods. And I don't make such concerns about the daily worries like I did a few years ago. In Germany we have a saying... "Life's too short to distress yourself." And as I watched Shawn's gallery I imagined a person who had an eye on the beautiful things in life. Though I never met her in person I know she must have been a wonderful person. Don, I don't know if these lines comfort you a little bit. I just wanted to let you know that you and Shawn are in my thoughts. My deepest sympathies to you and your family, Phil

Thread: poserpython.com back up & Reboning the Rattler | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Bushi, I'd love to use the reboned rattler for one of my upcoming images. I'd be really grateful if you could put it into freestuff. Since I work on a Mac I can't use the great tools you have on your website. Cheers, Phil
Thread: Starting an new wildfire about poser 5... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
LOL. It's funny to see how a small stone thrown into the big "'Rosity" pond causes waves as huge as a tsunami....still laughing Hey guys, calm down! Although I'm German as well I'm more than shure that the first release of P5 will be the English. Just my two cents... And I'll buy the English version for shure. :)))

Thread: Poser Import functionality Mac OSX version of Vue... neverending story :( | Forum: Vue
Jon, it looks like we don't have to wait too long anymore... With the next update Vue should be able to import Poser scenes made with the classic version of Poser. Anyway I'll keep me fingers crossed and knock on wood until I see this feature work on my Mac ;) Phil
Thread: Heads-up -- Poser technology surfaces in Vue d'Esprit | Forum: Vue
YIPPIIIAAAAAEEEEEHHHHH!!!!! This was the press release I've been waiting for quite a long time. Now I'll be able to import my Poser scenes under MacOSX without using the really anoying OBJ-import method. Thanks eon!!!

Mosca, I can confirm all the statements above. Tough e-on told me in a letter that the Poser import would work with the next version which has been released yesterday 4.06, it actually still doesn't work that easy. :( You still have to use the roundabout way of the OBJ-conersion method. But to be fair I have to assume that it's much easier than Bryce, since the whole interface of Vue is much more user friendly than Bryce's. And I know what I'm talking about since I used Bryce for quite awhile ;) I'd recommend Vue since it's rendering engine is much faster than Bryce. Hoped that helped you a little to make a decision. Cheers, Phil
