Oh my gosh!!!!!!!! I can't believe it takes so long for you. I have absolutely no idea whats up. I do have a suggestion, try doing a comparison with another obj and compare the results. It could be that just "that model" has issues with VUE where others might not.
Thread: following a terrain | Forum: Vue
http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=472202&Start=145&Artist=garyandcatherine&ByArtist=Yes I did a procedure like this in Bryce years ago. This is what I did: **I created a terrain (NOT A PROCEDURAL) **Then I duplicated it and cut away the area I didn't want. In this case I erased everything but a narrow strip that followed the area I wanted to have a wall surround. (the narrow strip being the wall) ** Then with that little narrow strip of terrain I resized it slightly to go around the pond and stretched its height above the level of the first terrain. ** To give the wall a broken and worn look I went back in to the terrain editor and erased little bits here and there to give it that aged look. ** The result was a wall made from a terrain that followed the contour of the 1st terrain. I hope this helps you. If you want a better explanation, I can do it in VUE and send you a file of it. Just IM me if you need to. G&C
Thread: Has any one else had Problems | Forum: Vue
I have had no problems what so ever. You probably know this but is everything on your computer up to date? Your copy of windows, Poser, your video drivers? They all need to be up to date in order to be in sync with each other. G&C

I am not sure I understand the issue you are having. Could you explain the problem you are having or what exactly you are trying to do? Hopefully I will be able to assist you in this. G&C
Thread: Using Vue to create a hurricane? | Forum: Vue
You may want to try suing primitive toruses or cylindars and create a cyclone shape out of many of them (layer them in a stack from small to large) and then apply a cloud material to all of them. You may have to stretch the the cloud material along the laterial axis to give it a swirling effect.............at least this is where I would begin. I remember seeing a tutorial for something like this about 2 years ago for Bryce. I think the same principles would apply for VUE also. I would check the Bryce tutorials here or over at 3dcommune. Hope this helps. G&C

If it does work for VEspirit, the interface will be slightly different. So when you are making your way through the tutorials it may be difficult to follow along exactly because some windows and options will be different due to the version difference.

Thread: Trouble scaling instances in ecosystems | Forum: Vue
Here is an easy way to force VUE to add more plants. On the density tab you have the slider that maxes out at 100%. Rather than use the slider, manually input a number higher than that and it will force the program to add more than 100%. For example, if set to 100% you hit the populate button and it generates 1000 instances of your ecosystem, input 500 and then repopulate you terrain. While it doesn't give 5 times the original amount it does however force more instances of your ecosystem. Just play around with the numbers and go as high as necessary to fully cover your terrain. Hope this helps

Procedural terrains absolutely cannot be exported. Dunno why, it's just the way it is. As far as your terrain problems, I too have some difficulties understanding its problems. Sorry I can't help but some issues like this are being addressed in the forums over at eon. You might want to check them out. G&C

Try these links. They have free plugins for PS that will allow you to create that TV/camera look. I have a plugin that does it so if you cant find it here then IM me with your email address and I will give you a copy http://thepluginsite.com/resources/index.htm http://www.photoshopcafe.com/tutorials/scan%20lines/scan.html http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/photoshoptutorials/ I hope this helps you. Thread: New Vue user and need a wee bit of help! | Forum: Vue
I believe that tutorial is written for a version of VUE that is NOT V5I. I tried it out in Infinate and it worked very well although I had to figure out the verison difference. If you can work around this issue the method still works flawlessly.

Probably a quick and inexpensive fix is to buy a new tower for your components. They can be very inexpensive and you can buy one that will allow for lots of expansion in the future. For less than 100 you can fix your cramped space issue and still use it for years to come with any upgrades.

We hope everyone enjoys the models. Download them all and render till your CPU melts ;) The people at VP did all the texturing and from what I can tell it looks really good. Gary and Catherine

YES, definately listen to Lin and Trelawney. Use the proceduraly terrains up close and standard far away. Or you can model a procedural terrain, get it how you like it then change it to a standard terrain. It changes somewhat during the transfer, but you can still retain a lot of detail if you increase the resolution of that terrain. I never use GR due to the HUGE time it takes to render and since I always postwork my images, whatever benefits I would have gained from GR over GI would be lost during all the postwork. Good luck G&C
