Huh? actually SreeD doesn't handle transparency at all, all you see in SreeD is a point cloud. thats one of the reasons that EF added OpenGL.
Thread: SreeD AGPs? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
SreeD is completely CPU driven. it has nothing to do with your graphics card and you can't change it's quality. I have not seen it mentioned in conjunction with any other software then poser.
Thread: Mat Pose vs Material | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm pretty sure that Poser 5 can't load an mc6 file as well so that would be another reason. and of course studio, though frankly if you want to support studio its better just to save out a studio material preset.

here is a thread over at DAZ which challenges people to make a different character out of V4, I think there are quite a few really different faces there. Some people said the same thing about V3 when she came out in comparison to V2, then they got to working with her and realized that there was plenty of versitility in her. I think that people really need to turn dials and see what they can come up with as they did in the above thread, becouse while V4 is very neutral in her default state, this in conjunction with the extensive collection of facial morphs in the Morphs+ package gives her a lot more possibilities to create truely original characters. I have to agree with pjz99, I just see no reason to depend on other people's Dial spinning when that is part of the fun of poser, creating your own character. I think many of the characters on the marketplace play it a bit too safe with the morphs.Thread: Welcome to my Nightmare | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase

She is alive!!Thread: outputting files for poser users. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
yeah a skybox is not really the way to go for poser as you need to be able to do even lighting, and it would be pretty difficult to light a box evenly enough in Poser. a skydome would be more popular. and yes it should be in a prop format .pp2 but frankly if you didn't include a light set to properly light it Im not sure how many bites you would get. No offense but it really doesn't sound like you know enough about poser to do well as a poser merchant. you should learn the software before trying to market to people who use it.

Thread: DAZ Studio 1.7 is released. Wait until you see what it's like!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
yes all new downloads of 1.7 go through Download.com, the links in the daz store point to that site. I wasn't saying anything negitive about mac users, just that that wasn't added into the numbers that Conniekat8 posted, though Im sure you are right that it is slightly skewed becouse more PC users are probably trying it for the first time after stumbling over it on Download.com
Thread: A personal view about textures for V4 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't always want super-realism in my images, often for an illustration you want a more high style look, so I would also add Liquid Rust to the list of artists that have done some amazing V4 textures, his textures are not so much realistic in the you can see every pore realism but a more stylized realism that looks really amazing in illustrations.
Thread: Ever considered buying Modo? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Apparently there is a little bit of animation in Modo itself...I think basically the animation of the camera so you can move around in the fantastic sets. The render engine produces some terrif. images.
::::: Opera :::::
Yes 301 is bringing in some animation tools, a basic timeline and the ability to animate cameras, morphs, lights and so on, the primary thing it will be still missing is any kind of rigging support.

great bows to Spanki, riptide really changed the ballance with a single blow. and of course you and Kuroume have created other tools that made things so much easier between Poser and C4D. C4D was always my choice of modelers due simply to its amazingly easy workflow and integration with Bodypaint, but import and export were a real struggle before Riptide came along.

as far as hard surface Modeling, both the US division of BMW Design works and Nokia are now using Modo for their 3D prototype mockups, and preproduction illustration.

there is currently no software on the market that I have heard of that you can model and rig in for poser/studio, all modeling is done in other modelers as conniekat said and brought into poser for rigging. btw, just in case you missed it, Modo 103 just went on sale at DAZ for an amazing price, this is an earlier version of Modo but it includes full upgrade rights to upgrade to the upcoming 301 version for a very low upgrade price.
