sigh.... there was a bracketed grin smiley after my last sentence. HTML must have ate it... I'm really not being grouchy.

I'm in total agreement with Marque... nothing is more irritating than clicking on a tiny thumbnail to get a closer look at something that looks interesting, only to have a nasty "members only" name and password dialog box pop up. Even in the free section, the example pic for the Napoleonic outfit is very tiny. You can see zero detail. If you want people to spend money, you have to let them see what they're buying first. That's why I don't buy DVD's at Kmart... they lock em all up in a glass case Tilandra

Is there a match on the reflectance and bump maps as well? They really affect color sometimes. Tilandra

There should be a dialogue box for "store relative path" "store absolute path" somewhere in your archiving program. I'm using WinRAR to make my zip files, so my exact way of doing it probably won't help you. I believe R'osity has a tutorial on setting up zips for the marketplace that would be perfect, problem is the only link I know of is at the top of the entrance to the Merchant's forum... which is not accessable unless you're already selling something! Hold on, I'll see if I can copy and paste the link. http://www.renderosity.com/index.ez?viewLink=344 Hopefully that link works.Thread: Part question, part vent | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes, very irritating. Even though they put in a new policy to make all the zip files conform to a standard, they never did ask us merchants to go back and fix the old files. At least, no one ever asked me. Now we're so used to them all working properly, when we hit an old one, it makes things head-achey. I don't know how to fix an existing one, except to extract it, fix the file structure, and re-compress it... which kind of defeats the purpose. Unless you archive your files, in which case it might be nice to fix them for yourself before burning them to a CD. Kellee

Without seeing the texture, I'd have to guess. Try extending the texture past the edges of the template area. Sometimes it's just a lighting problem, try rotating lights around or trying a different preset. Or, try it with a different bump map if you're using one. Tilandra

I don't think there is a setup window in p4, only in ProPack. I'm using ProPack, regardless. Tilandra

Between here and DAZ I spent $80... mostly tutorial stuff, and by that I'm including the R'osity mag subscription and Phil's CD. I developed an economic theory from playing far too many PC games... "... spend money on what makes you money." LOL Tilandra

I have one of Bill Fleming's books (3D photorealism toolkit) and he is awesome, so I have no doubt his texture workshop is a quality product. I'll take a Sloe Gin Fizz please... :) Tilandra

Okay, I'm trying to do what you suggested, but the delete key does nothing. You're not talking about deleting the parameter name, are you? That's not what I was looking for. In the HierEditor, if I click on the wheel shaped icon next to the parameter, it highlights the parameter in white, but I cannot delete it. If I click on the parameter name it opens the naming dialogue and highlights it in black. I can delete this, but it leaves an unnamed wheel on the tool bar. DAZ's articulate props remove the wheel completely, which is what I'm looking for. Hope I'm explaining my problem well enough. I'm doing this on a machine with a low-memory videocard. After trying to delete a parameter when highlighted in white, it seems to lock up the Hierarchy menu and I cannot select anything further. I can close the menu, reopen it and select again, however. Perhaps if you explain your technique in a little more detail I can figure out if I need to switch machines, or whatever. :) Tilandra
