You don’t have to open DS to use DSON, but The DS native side of DSON products needs a DAZ library in which to reside. The DSON icons that show up in Poser call on the duf files over yonder in Dazland?

I've been experimenting with conforming V4 clothing to La Femme, so far dresses and gloves. This is Epiphany Gown conformed. I moved the hip forward and up; posed the abdomen and chest a bit; and used the garment's built-in morphs to fit. I saved a version for LF and a pose for the garment to return it to proper fitting the next time I use it. She is wearing Extra Long Gloves. I conformed them, scaled them down on the X axis until they fit closely, the scaled the entire body up a bit. LF's Default hand pose makes this easy. A little, and I mean a little, bit of morph brush work, and I was in business. Having realized that, I unconfirmed the gloves, moved and posed them to fit, applied a last few touches of the morph brush, and rigged them to LF, so they're now completely compatible. She is giving you the base smile from an upcoming freebie.

Thats the thing - it's a base figure. The base shape is meant to be as flexible as possible.
Someone commented elsewhere that they don't understand why my HD morphs weren't the base shape: not everyone has the same preferences, and it's much easier to morph a smoother base shape than it would be to have to de-morph anything I've done and work from there. We discussed this at length and specifically avoided 'baking' any very strong features or styles into it so that it would be easier to shape, that's why the base face is smooth and devoid of any very strong, chiseled features. Think of it as a blank canvas. . . . the textures and base morphs in the figure are redistributable! But with morphs, HD morphs, body handles, fully working figure/body part scaling, Match Centers to Morph, an awesome built-in Morphing Tool and a very liberal license there is nothing stopping anyone from customizing her however they like for either the store, freestuff, or just for their own personal use.
I haven’t had time to read the documentation yet, so this is great news on redistributing the textures and base morphs. I see more ethnically diverse freebies in my future (as have been my characters for Pauline and Evolution).
I remember that back on the old official forum, everybody told Teyon that they wanted a blank slate that could be morphed into anything, then they didn’t like the slate. Your slate is awesome!

As for the HD Morphs - I never actually considered this until a few people asked me in PMs about it: there's no 'preset' character included because I figured that this time around I'd give everyone the flexibility to create something to their own tastes. So if you don't like the muscular quadriceps, for example, then simply don't load them or turn the dial down to a lower strength. So for anyone wondering, virtually all of my renders are all of the HD Morphs set to 1.0, and usually the MegaLashes and BreastsFlat morphs as well. Ladies with small boobs need representation too ?
I just loaded the HD morphs, and it's a vast array of dials. A pre-set file to value 1 for all the morphs in your "character" images would sure be nice. I'll also point out that an FBM would be nice, too, but I guess you can't provide one as a freebie. I can make one because I have Pro, but poor folks without have a lot of dial spinning to do. I'll need the FBM to copy to clothing I convert, for example.

The fitting room means everyone can use V4 (or G3 or G8) clothes and shoes. With a little fiddling, you can conform V4 clothes to Evolution, Pauline, Raffaella, and Elizabeth 2. I still use Sasha frequently for my V4 needs. I am happy.

By the way, I see that in the current $3.50 clearance sale, there is a ton of clothing for G3 and G8. All the latest DAZ sales have made it possible to buy even the latest stuff for less than twice that. It makes one wonder just how great the demand really is for these things.

If you load a texture in DS and export as obj, the texture also sticks. I haven’t tried using an obj as a dynamic garment, but I agree that the quality of the obj’s varies by vendor. I would stay away from G8 clothes from Rainbow Light, for example, which don’t do well even in the fitting room. Also note that G8 uses an A pose instead of a T pose.

I convert Genesis 2 figures, clothes, and hair to Poser native routinely so I almost never have to invoke DSON. I do considerably less work because I worry less about bloat with modern horsepower and storage. One should note that per Netherworks’ instructions, if you load a DSON garment onto a DSON figure in Poser, it picks up the morphs. Then you save a copy and use file optimizer to make it native. I keep a fairly morph-light version of G2F for converting DSON accessories. If you export a non-DSON enabled product from DS as a cr2, the above advice is certainly one way to go. If you have the pro version of Poser, though, just copy the morphs you need from your native figure. Of course, I do that for converted DSON clothing, too, so it only has the morphs I need.
Thread: Raffae? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have only fooled around with Raffaella, not Raffael. Be advised that you have to spend extra on skins to get much range of diversity or convert yourself with EZskin 3. The good news is that you can conform V4 garments to Raffaella with some adjustments: Scale the garment down slightly on the Y axis, shift the hip of the dress a bit, including oddly a 5 percent rotation in the y axis, and use the clothing's morphs to fit. Amazingly, you can get gloves to fit. Boots work only with the shin, foot, and toe invisible. Shoes in general have to be rerigged in the fitting room. I haven't tried M4 kit with Raffael, but that might work, too.

Genesis 2 poses work extremely well with Paul and Pauline. There are almost no clothes for either figure, in part because rigging issues fettered vendors. With Poser Pro, you can easily convert clothing yourself in the fitting room. I have a freebie dress mannequin (must purchase $5 mannequins for Evolution at Charlie Gamma Bravo Yankee Tango Echo Sierra) that gives you the ability to rig dresses with skirt handles in the fitting room. I have other freebies for Paul and Pauline. RobZhena’s Freebies

It’s the new rigging that started with G3. Exporting cr2’s works fine for G2 hair. If you have the pro version, you can import the obj you exported from DS and use a similar V4 hair as the doner in the setup room. Transfer the rigging and the morphs. This almost always works pretty well for hair that drapes down the back or over the shoulders in front. Bangs generally transfer well. It’s a crap shoot with other movement morphs.
