Bill, Your compliment is well taken, thank you. Critique, in my humble opinion, is one of an artist's most valuable tools. If you can "weather the storm" it will only make you that much better... I'm guessing the mix up is in the translation, but "trails" and "trials" are two different beasts. Trail is more along the lines of following a path (usually dirt or mud), while trials lends itself more torward a balancing act. I too ride "trails", on the bike mentioned above. Hawaii (where I live) is a great place for it. "Trials" on the other hand, can be encountered just about anywhere... parking lots, parks, schools, rock faces... you name it. :) -Rob

Bill, thanks for the constructive critique. Sometimes you become blind to some of the most obvious things and you need the eyes of others to help wash the sleep out of your own... I've taken some steps to remedy the texture problems (rendering now). Thanks again for pointing it out! To answer your question... he's doing what is called "trials". He's not necesarilly "riding" on the tree, more like bouncing/balancing on the rear tire. The trick is to never let your feet touch the ground, yet conquer as many obsticles as possible... If he falls, they he may end up in the gulley, if not (he doesn't :D) he hops down to the ground below (out of view). :) -Rob

I believe the thread your trying to find is one started by Clint in "Character Creator"... -Rob

Thanks all... This one was fun enough just to build, but the response from all of you makes it that much better... :) -Rob
Thread: Ok, I think it's finished. | Forum: Vue
The image in the #8 post is much better. The distance between the hills is much more convincing now. It gives the image much more depth. Great Job! -Rob

Bill, Thanks! The hair on the two figures to the left were done via Painter6 (color pencil/distorto impasto) and my Intuos, both were bald when imported into Vue. With the exception of my signature, the rest is Vue rendered. :) Ken, Thank you. Looking forward to your CD, textures really put the icing on the cake. ;) Martial, Thanks, I've been trying to use dynamic camera angles to pull the viewer into the image or make them feel as if they are a part of it. Learning with every new project... -Rob
Thread: Poser Patch ... is 116 the same as post-115 interim? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The link to the list fixes is located on the same page as the download. There are a few problems that have been fixed by 116, that were not by 115 or 115b. I would suggest you make a back up of the original install versions of "poser.exe" and "poser.rsr", some of the patches will not update patched versions of these files... unless of course you want to re-install everytime a patch comes out. :) -Rob

Contact me via rbtwhiz@hotmail.com. And I'll arrange getting you the files. I run the site Stormrage mentioned. I'm in the process of some changes and have temporarily taken down the d/l section. -Rob

Scott, I would ask to be safe, but as you already know .cr2's do nothing more than reference the .obj. So in essence, what ever you build is your own. You just can't give out the geometry (without permission)... People give away .cr2's all the time, it's one of the ways you can distribute morphs without giving away the original geometry. -Rob
Thread: Thanks rbtwhiz!!! Bandolero works! | Forum: Poser Technical
WHOA, been a few days since I checked this forum... sorry about the delay Bob! Glad to see my suggestion worked, the result is awesome! That prop would look great in the hand of my "TattooedDude" screamin' down a dark alley on his trusty HOG, ready to pump some deserving soul full of... well... you get the idea. :D You'll need to post both the .pz3 and the .obj becuase the .obj is not one anyone else has. As far as I know, there shouldn't be any problems with a PC reading the Mac .obj or the .pz3. We may have to ask one of the Mac guru's around here that one... MartinC is a name that comes to mind very quickly. -Rob (on my way out the door to work..)

Roy, that "Mark All Read" function has got to be the only way I've stayed sane trying to keep up since it was first implemented. I don't read all of the forums, but the few I do pile up quick, and without that feature I'd surely drown. Heck, I have been a little absent the last few days due to a few personal life events, and those forums were stacked! With the wealth of information that flows through this place, I can't see how you could stay on top without it... Mark me up for the top 1% of the 1% that use it! :) -Rob

Butch, the tattoo maps and figure that were mentioned (R.S.O.B.) are mine. I've recently run out of room on my isp server, and because of that had to start removing things to make room for others. I've contemplated my own domain and space, but I'm not convinced it's worth the $$$. Contact me via rbtwhiz@hotmail.com and I will arrange getting you the files. In regards to redistribution of my work, here is a clipping of the notice posted at the top of the very page the items were available from: "...Redistribution or sale of these models by themselves, or as part of a collection, in whole or in part, is strictly prohibited unless released by me...", there was also a javascript alert on every download that said the very same thing. For future reference, the best way to handle any creators work if you have questions, is to ask the creator. Most (if not all) creators of the "free" stuff are more than willing to work with you. Some also have very valid reasons they post conditions for use of their work... Again, you can contact me privately at rbtwhiz@hotmail.com. -Rob
