Is this the right place to post this? I clicked on the "monthly challenge" link on the sidebar but it only leads to something from last DECEMBER. The Challenge Arena gallery seems only to have posts from last month's challenge. Sure would be nice if things were a little clearer about this.Thread: Thumbnailing Bryce Files? | Forum: Bryce
Jade, thanx for your advice, but READ paragraph 2 of my original message. I'm frustrated because the thumbnailer at wolfies has been "temporarily" offline for over a year and wolfie NEVER responds to my messages. Just for the record, tho - wolfie's Bryce Librarian is a GREAT program and a real life-saver and without it I would have long ago lost what few shreds of sanity I have left. Anybody who uses Bryce should have it. I just wish wolfie wasn't so totally unresponsive on the thumbnailer. I mean he could at least have sent back a 1 line email saying "sorry, but I'm not going to work on that any more" rather than just ignoring message after message after message after message.

Hi Ken, thanx for the advice. I already have thumbs plus but to use that you have to load and render each obp and each mat to make a pic to thumbnail. Since I have several gigabytes of obp & mat files, it would take me months. According to wolfie's site, his program, if he ever made it available, would go thru a folder and directly read each obp or mat, extract the thumbnails & make an html file with all of them. I was hoping someone else had built something to do the same thing since wolfie's program apparently won't be available again in the foreseeable future.

You might try reorganizing with the help of the Bryce Librarian available free from Wolfiesden.com. (A lifesaver program for me.) I have several hundred megs of objects saved in groups in "library" *.obp files by type (i.e., one group for clothes items for figures, several groups for weapons separated by type, several for different trees & plants, a couple for architectural elements, another for boats & their parts, etc.). The Librarian lets me swap these groups in & out of the User & Tutorial categories in the Create menu on the fly as needed. This way I can keep each library file from getting too big, and still have access to all the goodies I've downloaded or created. Wolfie's program is great!

The Bryce Librarian at Wolfie's Den is really great, but his gallery maker has been unavailable for the last 8 months, which is how long I've been checking back every week, hoping he'd make it available again. Try emailing him with a request for it to be available, maybe if enough of us do so, he'll get around to it. In any case, if you don't already have it, GET his Bryce Librarian, it's a Godsend when you have lots & lots of objects & materials to keep track of.
