Thread: Graphics Tablets Oo | Forum: Bryce
I don't personally use my Graphire 2 with Bryce at all, can't see any benefits with it for that, but I highly reccomend it as a graphics tablet for the usual uses in Photoshop etc.! - It is, despite its much lower price tag, an excellent bit of kit! :)

TreePro is an app especially for creating trees, worth checking out although it creates massive dxf files on export.

Thread: Kromekat Texture CDs | Forum: Vue
Thanks for that Sacred! - Sorry Davey, been away for a week and onlt just got your email last night. Hopefully you now have more info to help with your potential purchase! - There is no secret to using tileable textures, just be aware that the 'frequency', ie: how many times the texture repeats/scale of pattern is one of the most crucial factors in realism. Too many repeats/higher frequency and you may get a visible wallpaper effect. Too low a frequency and the textures may pixelate! Plenty of bump (using a copy of the texture as an alpha value to create height scale) works well as does using lots of terrains to randomise the scenes 'strata'!

Thread: Bryce 5 is actually faster then Bryce 4 | Forum: Bryce
Well speaking as a Mac user, I can tell you now that Bryce 5 is definately slower, there is nothing to make it faster anyway. Corel omitted to add Altivec processing which all new pro macs use in the G4 range. this single process would increase render times hugely as it does in processing of photoshop filters.

Thread: Material texture extraction | Forum: Bryce
Unless I am misunderstanding you... You can import a material/texture, create your bryce version of it, mapped to a ball or whatever and save it back into the texture library as a preset, that way , yes, you can delet it as a separate entity on your HD

Thread: Thumbs down to Corel Bryce 5 | Forum: Bryce
Yeah that maybe true, I just perceive Corel like I do Microsoft and Windows, clumsy, unreliable and more concerned with a profit on the latest version than satisfied customers! I guess the truth in what you mentioned about Adobe/Mac and Corel/PC is that the Mac was always the professional design platform which is where the relationship with Adobe began with Photoshop/Illustrator etc. and indeed Corel may have been the PC equivalent when they started being used for the same purposes with CorelDraw etc. So yeah, its what your used to, and how long you have been using it! - not that this has anything to do with the fact that Corel didnt do as well as they might have with Bryce 5!!
