I love using the Dream House but its so large the default positions are way off centre. If you zero position a room and rotate it then the axis of rotation is a mile off.

I got around this by bringing in a simple figure at zero, parenting the room to the figure then move the room to zero. Hide the simple figure. If you rotate the simple figure then the room stays at zero.

You can save the room pose for future use (apply after parenting). If you need two or three rooms then parent them togther first before parenting the main room to the simple figure.

One way to tell is to monitor Hard Disk activity. If the computer is having to page data to/from the virtual memory on HD then more RAM will help. Don't confuse VM activity with loading the app/modules/textures

Is a wall/other object blocking the camera? It may be an invisible back-face  in preview but render opaque. Make the Main Camera visible in properties and use the AUX camera to check the line of sight

Bucket Size is how big a chunk Poser renders at a time. As said above the optimum setting depends on system memory. You will need to set it along with Min Shading Rate (BS/MSR) to get a power of two number eg 32, 128, 512. Other values means odd bits are passed from one render chunk to the next, slowing down the process (I'll leave it to the experts to a more technical explaination) I have an old XP system and use 32/1 preview and 32/0.25 or 16/0.25 final

Last time I updated  Flash via the pop-up notification I lost the Library window. Direct download from the Flash site fixed it.

Off Topic I know, but a lot of people {cough} Steve Jobs, {cough} don't like Flash- is it a good idea to have the Library depend on it??

Make sure you have got either the folder or an existing material positively selected (dark highlight). If nothing is 'selected' then the "+" isn't displayed

Failing on BIOS boot may mean faulty hardware- maybe trying to interrogate faulty item. Only way to find out is disconnect ALL hardware when PC is off  (KB mouse / FD HD and CD internally/ external USB etc) and try to boot. You will get an error with no keyboard but you can see if it boots quickly. Power off, connect KB and boot, check, off. Repeat with each item.

NB you will need to disconnect IDE/SATA cable and not just pull the power. Loose power connector into HD/CD might also be the problem

I noticed I had the same problem with Poser 8 SR3 but I hadn't got around to posting. Not found it with any other shoe/boot in my runtime. A fix would be appreciated.

I tried RAMRush when I started using Poser 8. I was getting lots of Out of Memory Errors when rendering. System is XP pro, 2GB and Athlon XP 3200+. RAMRush appears to page unused apps out of physical memory a little quicker (either automatically or on demand). Now that Poser is on SR3 I'll have to see how it behaves without RAMRush.

Is there any benefit in setting  fixed Virtual Memory using XPs max recommended settting?
