You can always try to lower the quality, if you are lucky it will look fine once you lower the res. for the final image. :)
Thread: VENDORS! Do You Love V4 Enough To Make Her Complete? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What i would suggest you to do is to render the image huge 4000x4000 if you can, that way its easier to work with. Also remember that you can save the brush in PS, so once you have made it or downloaded it from there site. You don't have to make it each time.

I don't know any of the products in details, so exactly how they made them Im not sure off. But at least to me it looked like they used some sort of scatter tool that allows you to scatter geometry over a surface which in this case is hair and then turned it into a product like it were a piece of cloth. At least thats the impression i get from reading their descriptions. I don't think it would be all that impossible to do.
However I think you have a better chance of simply painting in the hair manually afterwards (unless you are doing animations).
Here is a 15 min PS tutorial of how to make facial hair, in this case its beard but the approach is the same, for what you are trying to do (Obviously you can do this in Gimp as well) and to be honest with a bit of practice i bet you can make it look much better than any product,
Thread: Are people still using V4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This is what has given V4 this unnaturally long life as the primary poser figure. and she will not be abandoned my most until the arrival of a universally accepted and superior POSER NATIVE female..perhaps project E?? time will tell.
At least for me V4 and M4 are a good mixture between speed and quality. I have played around with the DSON import, but honestly I haven't had any good experience with it. Most the times i have to restart Poser because it gets screwed up due to it also I find most the characters to be slow to work with, which quickly annoys me, I like the characters and all, but I think its to much problems getting it to work correctly with Poser and having read the guide on Daz3D on DSON didn't help anything, I personally don't think these figures are worth the trouble for the images i make and as someone already mentioned if you need a high resolution human mesh, you can do that by simply go Figure -> Skinning method -> Poser Unimesh and just increase the subdivision level.
So a mixture of people having a lot of content for V4, but also I think a lot of people have problems with the genesis characters (especially the new ones) when using poser and personally i think its sad that the users are caught up in this "battle" between Poser and Daz3d that it have a negative impact on the experience that they have using these programs.

You could try to install sketchup and import it into that and try to export it again in OBJ or something and see if that works.
Thread: Gary Larson's "Far Side" Doesn't Like Fan Art | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
My personal opinion is that these guys should relax, if you are not "ruining" his art/concept or do anything offensive with it and you give him credit and doesn't cash in on his work, then he/they should appreciate that some people like what he made and are helping to promote it. Imagine how many people have made south park, the simpsons or Disney stuff.
Besides that in regards to legal matters, im pretty sure (depending on where you live) that the lawyers have to proof that you have sold any of the drawings, if they want to nail you for that. Besides that you could always try to contact the copyright holder and ask for permission as other have mentioned, its might not necessarily be his doing, but most likely his publisher that's behind it without him knowing about it. And if he is a decent guy, and you explain to him that you are just a fan, he might give you permission to post them.

You can also create a custom morph with the morph brush tool thing, might be easier than using magnets or maybe you can see if you can use the bullet tool (I think its called)

Hm.... can you tell me a bit more about this editor, please?
Here are some of the things that annoys me.
The area you write in is to small, so you constantly have to scroll. Need to be 2 or 3 times the size.
The lack of an quote button is a bit annoying as well, not referring to the "Quote" a whole post but simply a button you can press and it will make a quote tag so you can copy/paste some text into it, as its a fast way to indicate that you are quoting something maybe from another post as well.
The edit in full screen doesn't seem to work correctly. You get the big window but looses all functionality of the editor. If you increase the size of the normal post window you can get rid of the "Edit in fullscreen."
Its annoying that you have to leave a blank line between text to make it go to the next line.
That you can't underline text.
You can't change color of text.
There should be unlimited editing time of posts as well, i think.
These are the most obvious ones i can think of right now.
Thread: Could this be what's next for Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Good idea. For a new figure, we should look beyond DAZ, though.
Then again its not as easy for a vendor to even copy that of Daz or even go beyond. Because Daz and the other content stores, have the benefit that they get X amount of % of the sale. So they can easily give the base model away for free and still make money from textures, morphs, content etc. But a individual making a character and giving the base model away doesn't have that privilege and risk that another vendor create morphs and textures for the model that becomes more popular than the character creators own, which of course is of little use for them then. So not sure, how to really get around it, but its definitely not easy i think to sell characters and make them popular as well.
Thread: Poser 11 Dynamic Clothing Simulation for animation | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't think the cloth room have received any changes from 2014, at least not from what i have seen in any feature presentations. Unfortunately i don't think there are any "normal" software on the market, that will simulate cloth fast. How long time it takes to simulate depends on a lot of things, quality and complexity of the cloth seems to be the main things. But also what motion you are simulating plays a huge part. But I wouldn't expect shorter simulation times in P11 compared to P2014 at least, so if thats your main or only reason for considering to upgrade, I wouldn't do it.
Regarding chains and such ain't the bullet system more for that? haven't really used it my self.

2b. You will never get the vendors on board for a new figure - for the most part they are hell-bent on staying in the Poser 4 era and have no intention of leaving it. In 2016, vendors are still making material .pz2 files.
Lack of vendor support for ANY figure not named V4 is the REASON SM added the fitting room to Poser Pro.
I don't think its because vendors doesn't want to support different figures. And think V4 and M4 got so popular, because they really advanced the figure market and you didn't have as many figures back then as you have now. So it was a logic move for people, not only vendors to throw themselves over these. Daz3d if i remember right, then started with the Genesis figures series and gave a base package away for free, which meant that any vendor could get the base mesh and make content for them without actually having to invest in it, as more and more Genesis figures came out again the base mesh could be downloaded and vendors could easily make content for them.
Since the quality of the genesis figures is rather good they also got popular, but for people making figures, I think this have made it a bit harder for them to release new figures. Because their figures requires vendors to buy them and there are lots of figures, not only humans ones. So a vendor would have to make a lot of investment for making content to all these. So I think anyone making a figure would benefit from copying that idea from Daz3d and release the base mesh for free with the most common morphs and then special morphs and textures are bought separately. Because that would allow vendors to easily make content for them.

I'm not asking you to valid to vendor code of conduct. I was simply bringing up some of the points to the surface again, but do not want to get you in trouble, so I've removed some of the conversation.
If im not allowed to post my answers to these, at least remove them as if they are valid arguments, because they ain't. Also you have another vendor in that thread trying to explain to you, why it is not. At least present the whole thread or nothing :) Again I don't mind the thread being posted here. I have nothing to hide and stand by everything i said in it.
Thread: Making Changes | Forum: Community Center
I appreciate you posting these here, but unless im allowed to post my answers to all these questions as well, which i ain't due to the rules in the vendor forum about sharing informations from there. I find it to be a bit biased, which i hope you understand. Personally you have my full permission to move the whole thread to the public forum, if you like.
Especially this:
"As to having people pay to be whitelisted to post third party links - we really already provide that service via advertising on the site."
If you read my reply to this specifically you will quickly realize that, neither have I suggested or even come close to suggesting anything like this, and is actually arguing strongly against even mentioning such thing in this forum!! But since you don't post that, you now present it as if I suggested it. I have not even come close to suggesting anything like that. So please either move the whole thread to the public or allow me to post all my arguments from the forum, so this is presented in a fair manner?

As I mentioned previously, this rule is not new. It was implemented a few years ago and then brought back.
But can you in short please explain, why you don't roll back the rule? Its obvious for anyone on the forum, that this have had consequences. Make a fresh beginning roll back the rule and reconsider whether this is actual worth keeping. As you say it have already been ignored for a few years so why not ignore it a bit longer? :) At least that way you might have a chance of bringing back a few freebie creators, remove the confusion with what links are allowed etc. And show the community that you actually listen when they make a complain or urge you to do something that they do not feel improves the community. You have the chance and are the only one who can make the first step here. So please consider whether its not a much better approach to take this rule up again at your weekly meeting and have a discussion about it while taking the arguments put forward by the community into consideration, and if you still reach the same conclusion as you did a few years ago then keep the rule otherwise scrap it.
