I'm glad to hear that you love Shade7. Have you tried saving your scene and rendering it in Shade? Shade has a much better rendering engine, but when using radiosity, GI, or HDRI, it is REALLYYYYYY SLOW, but the result is awesome. Look at my thread below, ~#30 or so, about new clothes for Laura. I have included a short pictorial tutorial on how to make a shirt base and tanktop. -The Starkdog

Just curious, Why is your max texture size 800? Poser may be choking because it is trying to scale down multiple textures. Just for S#its and giggles, set the max texture size to 4000, and re-render. Also, what bucket size are you using? Unless I missed it before, could you post a screenshot of your rendering settings? Thanks and good luck. -The Starkdog

Fugazi1968, Believe it or not, but my low poly "cage" was very similar to what tou have in your part7 download. I am using my version as a base for shirts, jackets, etc. I do plan to make some dynamic clothes, kinda like how you presented in your tutorial. Randym77, Silo is a modeler, a cross between the functionality of Wings3D and the workflow of Maya. It is a sub-d/ box/poly type modeler, whereas Shade is a spline based modeler. I do plan to use both Silo and Shade, as Silo does not have a rendering package; therefore I will import my models into Shade to render and play around with. -The Starkdog

Thread: Question about Ben and Kate??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks MarianneR, I guess that Kate is taller through the torso than Laura, but very similar shapewise(from what I can tell). Thanks for the pic, and I should soon be making stuff for Kate. Thanks, -The Starkdog

AH yes, I'm downloading her right now at 10kb/s for the next 40 minutes. DAZ must be flooded right now, as I am also downloading stuff from here at 3-400kb/s!!! Gotta love cable. -The Starkdog

What you need to do is to load M3, then load in the shirt. Make sure that there is no poke-through on the shirt, just as if you were to do a dynamics simulation. Now, at the bottom of your screen, select the hidden line wireframe view. Next, with the shirt selected, click on the grouping tool icon. The shirt should be red. Now, create the groups hip, abdomen, chest, lCollar, rCollar, etc for the rest of the groups the shirt covers. Now select a group, say hip for example. Click on the + button, and highlight all the polys which align with M3's hip. Do the same for the following groups. When finished, assign each group a material, such as body, sleeve, etc. After that is done, exit the grouping tool. Now, save ths shirt as an obj, but make sure that the save polygon groups check box is checked. This will insure that your groups are saved. Now, load the model in UVMapper, and select a new UVMap. For a t-shirt, I would use cylindrical mapping for the body, and keep the sleeves as seperate groups. You can then arrange your UV map by group or material. When finished, save the model, then save the UVMap as a bmp for a template for texturing. Now load the model back into Poser. It should hopefullyt be white in color. Now, in the material room, load in the UVmap to see if there is any stretching of the material. If not, then good. Now, if you have QuickConform by MarkDC, load in your model, a donor CR2, M3 blank would suffice, and tell where you want the new cr2 to go to. The program will make a new cr2 for your new shirt. Now go back to Poser. Load M3, then load in your shirt from wherever you put it in your library. You should see the shrigging man. Load the shirt, then conform to M3. Now pose M3 to see if the shirt moves well with him. You may have to tweak a few things such as JP's to get everything right. I hope this helps. -The Starkdog
