Kewl Stuff. Only one comment, and even Captian EO at Disney screwed this one up. If the main character (or main focus) is in the forground, do not, cut the figure off. 3D works best with the entire image in view or most of it (not cutting off the head or feet). the moment you start cutting things off at the border, it tends to flatten them. If you notice that her but has a bit of 3d but to look at the head it does not. The same with the sleleton, put it entirely in the frame and the great 3d you have going with him will look even better. James -- just my 2 cents. BTW , I have to but the red on the left eye also.

Well, I guess it won't be posted, but I still need some help with the JPs and getting the cr2 to look for the .obj file instead of having the geom within the cr2. Shdwcstr, and ScottA, I would love to see what you can do or in anyway you can help me eith this. He would make a great orc, for my WIP Tolkien stuff. James

Well I have it, If someone can make it work. I'm still working on it, but the Poser manual is vauge at very best on character creation. The thing they DON'T explain is what the blazes should I name every part (they give half an answer). And how to move unmovable hierarchies. Seems that one I did it, and now the foot is at the top of the list, I can't move things around anymore. Another thing for me to do is find a way to learn JPs. I already have it set up as posable, but believe you me, it does some very strange bends and breaks.
Thread: Bad joint parameters? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ah ha! I have the same problem. I can't figure it out either :( I basically did the same thing with my "Frodo-esque" Hobbit.(Check out the newest Tolkien WIP message) I checked and re-checked the joint prams, in the requester. The main figure and the tunic (and pants) of my figure were identical. I believe it has something to do with the way Poser "conforms" the clothing. I did the same, scaling the tunic exactly as the limbs. I'm in the works of trying to figure out how to save the figure, so that the clothing and figure become one. It was suggested that to save the figure as an obj and point the cr2 to the new obj. (Won't this lose the morph targets?) Anyway, I hope we get aome great answers. Cause i have an entire Trilogy of characters to make ;-) James

Yes sewerRat, I scaled the clothes (the shins) to match. The reson for the cut-offs is that at least the top part of the legs bend ok, it was the lower shins and forearms that are giving me problems. James

LOL, I'm cutting a deal with TriStar even as we speak! ROTFLMAO. Yea, I wish. Even though I have a G4 400mhz, Poser and Bryce don't take advantage of it, and I get lots of memory leaks and loading figures in is fine, but rendering them...slows down to a snails pace, or claims it can't find any materials (Yes I have the latest patch, which seems to have slowed things down) I have yet tried to load all 4 characters in one scene in Poser. If you here a sonic explosion...... With all the clothing props and all it would be a mighty sized file indeed. Quick question: I guess the best way to add new characters already created, is to save them as new figures? and then just import them via the poser figure menu? James

renapd, Yes thought of that. If indeed they become available, It will only be the morph targets, and textures. Maybe a strand of hair or to also. I'm also working with some other people , so hopefully I can get some .obj/clothes files included. We'll see how things progress. Unfortunatly, the perfect garb and beard have come from Zygote. James

GhostOM, (oops) The Beach hat I believe is on the Costume Pack CD. Sorry, I get confused, I though it was a standard Poser prop. As fo the Tunic, yes I agree. but first things first. I am just doing variations till I get the character right. Then all the characters will get a costume (tex map) change. And yes Gandalf was grey, and white, but that came later. Remember he approched the team on the road as the grey, and after the battle he became the white. This is before all that. ;-) (I'm just making excuses) And the feet, yes I tried to get them larger just using the dials. No dice. I'll have to magnitize them. And yes I know that they are covered in hair, there is some there but didn't map well. Again, WIP. James

The Victorian dress was an option, but again too formal. And even with magnets I can't get the dress/skirt part to taper in the way it should. I'm afraid the dress must be modeled. I'm in the works of buying Carrarra, this might help. I'm using Infini-D 4.01 and Imagine for my modeling. As to the mantle, I believe that it could be made as a static prop, and with morph targets, able to have limited movement. Allerleirauh: I too could whip this out on my sewing machine in a day. :-) James

This is what I'm looking for Allerleirauh. Oh And sorry, I've been working too hard and I'm dislecticGaladriel. ;-) The puff I was talking about was a tie on the arm, creating the puff/fold. James

Me too, great info! I always saw the "subset" and never used it. One note: On my wizard character, it was so funny. I had 12 magnets before setting the morph. Looked like someone from hellraiser.
