Nope, there's an M3 to M2 figure included that allows you to use the M3 face on an M2 body that can still wear all M2's old clothes.
Thread: DTE Gurus, Any clue how to copy Components? | Forum: Bryce
Yep, I've done that before. Click on the component in "B" for example, then drag it to "C".
Thread: Images too dark | Forum: Bryce
I used to have people complain that my images were too dark, after a while I started checking into the monitor settings and found that my monitor was considerably brighter than most. Once I fixed that, and learned to keep Gamma correction turned off in Bryce rendering, I haven't had a problem, even with rather dark pics.

[[The minute vicki 3 was available people were shouting loudly for Mike 3.]] Actually, some of us have been shouting for Mike 3 since well before vicki 3 was released, and aren't really all that excited about vicky 3 at all. ;o)

Thread: bryce - default document settings | Forum: Bryce
Yep, I have the same problem. ALthough it's set in the preferences to use the settings I have set and not the factory settings, the factory settings ALWAYS take over when I open Br5, and my settings - wireframe resolution, ground shadows off, selection palette at the bottom instead of animation palette, etc. - will NOT save no matter what and I have to redo them every single time I open Br5. What a paininnabutt! Br4 saved those preferences without a single problem.
Thread: metaball waves | Forum: Bryce
Thanks immensely. This is exactly what I need right now as I'm working on 2 scenes that need waves. Terrains are great for making ordinary at-sea waves, but this will give me those shoreline breakers that terrains just don't do well. Thank you Dankeschoen Merci beaucoup Mille grazie Muchas gracias Domo arigato gozaimasu Hsieh Hsieh Bahut dhanyavad Spasibo Shukran etc., etc. and so forth... :D
Thread: The advantages of the "new look" | Forum: Community Center
The dropdownmenus really have to go. Were they designed by somebody who used to work for Microsoft?????? It's utter counter-intuitive (like most microsoft products) to hugely increase the number of clicks/steps it takes to get somewhere. For years I've complained that MS's guiding principle in software design seems to be "Who on earth would want to do anything with 3 clicks/keystrokes when it COULD take them 12 or maybe even more?" The new dropdowns sure seem to be a living manifestation of that philosophy. THe color scheme is HORRID, that's bad enough in itself - the damnable dropdowns just rub salt in the wound.

Thread: Daz Dragon ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yeah, that old V2 had the best modeled wings - actually has a little muscle on the 'upper arm' part - the new DAZ dragon, while really neat - has such spindly little 'upper arms' on the wings that it just doesn't look right - like there's no wing muscles at all. (Other than that, it's great.)
Thread: Genres within the gallery | Forum: Community Center
Ok, but it sure isn't a landscape. I guess that's going to be the 'catch-all' category, as there are certainly quite a few varieties that seem to be stuck in there. I guess we can live with that, but I really think there should at least be an 'Atmosphere/Mood' category for scenes with a 'film noir' ambience, or where the overall atmosphere is the main focus, but is not necessarily 'gothic'. (Gothic would fit into 'atmosphere/mood' but not the other way around - IMO.)

Tammy, I came up with the term "viewscapes" in an attempt to coin a phrase as inclusive as possible for those types of view. If the 'film noir' feeling or general 'ambiance' or possibly some 'intense emotion' is the main subject of a pic, how about a broad class called something like "Atmosphere/Mood"? Also, possibly a genre for 'Urban Scenes' in addition to Nature-Scenes and Viewscapes - so there's room for everyone? (Just tossing out suggestions to see if any float and can be helpful.) Also, I'm with dialyn on the terms - such as the 'story' genre. I know you have a lot to do, but wouldn't it be a good idea for there to be a thread/page/whatever someplace with a list of all the genres and at least a start-off basic definition of what goes in them. Some are quite clear, such as sea/undersea (thanks for adding that) but a number of others, such as 'story' (For example: is it a picture that tells a story, or a series of pictures telling one story - or both?) - the terms can be rather vague and some definition would make things clearer.
Thread: 3D ModelWorld - Gone Again | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The problem with the download managers is that people use them to suck a copy of EVERYTHING off a site - devouring bandwidth by the gigabyte and blocking access by others. Since sites have to pay for the bandwidth used, it can start to cost really BIG $$$ if a bunch of greedy assholes are sucking everything out of a site like that.

So as not to rile the folks who wanted the "nature" category in there by removing their genre, how about? Nature Scenes (could include anything from a single flower to a full all-natural landscape) and Viewscapes (landscapes ranging from natural to full cityscapes, in fact - any kind of wide-field view) It seems this might possibly be a simple way to accommodate all parties.
