I really wouldn't want to be too closely associated with 'rosity atm. o.O This isn't just about the V3 stuff, but how they ignored their OWN merchants and released a mess for sale.

Lots of motives floating about, hopefully most figure to look a little deeper. However, even without the V3 JPs, 'rosity still deserves a pie in the face for releasing that thing without testing it well (not following their own testing standards), and not listening to their own merchants who said it needed more work.

artistheat, great lighting but the subject is hideous. OO Wow, at least Judy's mesh was mainly smooth. ^^;

A month's membership to at least try it out is definitely worth it. There is a Poser Universe phenomenon- the "I will not buy" statement. Imagine you're watching TV and you see an ad for a green convertible... You hate the color green. Do you then call the people who did the ad & tell them that you won't be buying their car? I think it's different though if you call them and say something like "hi, will you be doing a blue version?"

In the posing test images shown over at Poserpros it is obvious that Burton's Jessi bends better. She doesn't look as broken in many positions. Not looking broken is a pretty obvious improvement over the original. I don't think that the bending aspects can be all that subjective. Either something bends well or it doesn't. Now looks are very subjective. But I don't think there are many realities where V3 is fat. Out of the box V3 is not fat. I'm not even sure if she's average weight for her height. What would she be? 5ft10.5 & 120 pounds?! I prefer more cushioning on female characters and that's easily enough solved with morphs and wyrmmaster magnets etc. There's something about actually soft curves. Marilyn Monroe versus Twiggy. The Greek Venus versus Callista Flockhart. Aiko/Hiro can look very anime/manga. Aiko's mesh layout & UV mapping is better than the Anime Doll's. That said I love them both and they can co-exist.

You don't have to be rich to use Adobe or Lightwave even. Just have to keep an eye out for a good deal, and save money. And tax refunds help too. ;) Poser does have value and I want it to be kept in good market place for serious artists/animators. That is why I said I would send an email to CL and ask to roll the price up if they can. lol Most Poser users enjoy the program as a hobby. If you want to be a serious animator... Poser really isn't the ideal program. At all. Ok everyone raise your hand if you want Poser 7 to cost you $1000 just so you can be an art snob. Don't be shy now. :P
