Thread: Camera blur and depth of field in Vue 4 | Forum: Vue
Wow...that sure looks good cheers, what settings did you use (%-wise). If you look at the picture from bryce in my attached link on the top (of kromekats texture pack cover), the background fades out into a blured, light color tone....this in my opinion, looks very appealing (but not allways very natural). Have to do more (long) test renders...

I hoped that the blur effect would be as good as in Bryce, then again it might be a tweaking issue....otherwisa, it would be a nice implementation for Vue 5, or an earlier update from e-on!

Thread: GE Force Video Card and Open GL | Forum: Vue
Hello Tom! This is a common problem with the GeForce cards. It should have been adressed in the latest Vue 4.03 update. Try deselecting opengl in the options menue and there should not be any artefacts, and you however will be limited to wireframe view. The are many posts an this issue with plenty of usefull tips. Hope this helps a bit! Cheers Peter
Thread: Another texture related question for you! | Forum: Vue
I turned the gray scale contrast up for the bumpmap and I am getting better results! Thanks again Pete....your a life saver! =)
Thread: Another texture related question for you! | Forum: Vue
Thank's Pete! It's working better now! I also forgot to tweak the ambient and diffuse lighting from the start. I find however that the bump mapping isn't strong enough...even with a high gain.....so is there any filter function I could use? Sorry for bothering you again! =)
Thread: Another texture related question for you! | Forum: Vue
Thank's for the quick reply! When you say "turn up the bumps" ...are you refering to the bump gain? ..I have tryed that but still did not get a satisfactory result. Any specific range you recomend? As for the highlights, do tou use the same .jpg image for the highligt production under the variable highligts tab? The scale of the bump is the same as the mapped picture (x and y axis)...so what do you mean by making sure the gain number is the same? Also, the smoothing option does not work with terrains! Thank's for any further help!

Thread: windowsXP and Vue4 | Forum: Vue
The GeForce card is a NVIDIA based card that uses the nvopengl.dll files to accelerate. If you would like to use OpenGL acceleration in the world browser, which shades the whole scene from wireframe in real time and makes object/vegetation placement much less tediouse, you can possibly make it work by the process I described. Just make sure to backup the nvopengl.dll before you delete it, just in case. Hope it works out for you!
