**@danob & TwoPynts:  I snapped a bunch o' shots!  This one had the most sky/cloud color contrast.  BTW, "C" is the original image as downloaded from the camera; "B" is closest color-wise to what I remember the true sky color to have been.  I am experimenting with curves and levels.  It is interesting to see all y'all's thoughts on the subject... obviously, that roof has got to go! **

**Way back in the day (November 1, 2005), when I saved and edited all my shots in JPEG format and still used MS Paint for postwork (can you even call it that?).   **:woot:

I'm really amazed when I think about all I've learned here in just over a year... and I know I have even more yet to learn.

Not too shy, is she.  The camera certainly seems to like her!  Nice variety/groupings of shots.  These seem like they may have been taken for her graduation?

In the past, I've shot our black & white cats against a royal blue and also a golden brown background, the results of which were both good.  I think the trick is to seek a good contrast.  Lighting also is key.

...if guns aren't handy, then machetes will do to hack to death around 500,000 people are so.  Locking the populations of entire villages into church buildings and setting the buildings on fire works, too.  Like what happened in Rwanda just a few years ago.

...or Darfur, just yesterday.  I wish people around the world would stop blaming inanimate objects (guns, machetes, roadside bombs, the list goes on and on...) for violence.  Hatred and intolerance are to blame, and until those issues and the people who practice them have been dealt with decisively, the killing will continue to perpetuate itself; no matter whether the instument is a high velocity piece of metal, high temperature pieces of atom, or the proverbial jawbone of an ass.

**It astounds me, how little the human race has progressed in conflict resolution in our thousands of years of 'civilization' (and I use the term *very * loosely!). **

the modern elevator... could never have happened unless the guy that devleoped a way to bore a hole in a steel rod to make an accurate rifle was around, an english guy i think......without him the steam engine water powered piston....would never have functioned efficiently enough. from that precision in drilling came water pumping and the industrial revolution all of which would have been non starters with no elevators no breaking systems worth a damn and no communication systems.....mind you we wouldn't have all the wars and guns we have to day either lol

I think I'd be willing to take the stairs, if that would achieve total world disarmament!

They do.  Most folks are unaware that unlike hardwired 'landline' telephones, cellular phones are actually handheld radio transceivers, and as such, emit high frequency RF radiation, just like a microwave oven, only on (slightly) lower frequencies.  There have been no conclusive studies linking prolonged cell phone use to cancer, however anecdotal evidence would seem to suggest that there is a correlation.  I'll continue using my old landline, thankyouverymuch, I can do without the brain tumor (and besides, my typing is bad enough already)!
