Very well.
With Poser 13 as host, I just ran the 'collapsing sphere' example from the program manual and I managed to bring the deflated shape back into Poser13. I then added a stormy wind force and restarted the simulation to blow the collapsed sphere around. So: This all seems to work fine.
What I am experiencing though is that not all functions from Poser work as long as VWD is running. For example I could not uncheck the 'animated' check box of the camera. It did not react until I did really exit VWD.
So far, so good.
Will do a few more of the examples before attempting the 'real' workflow:
- Use Jinny to fit some garment to LF2, export the garment as .FBX,
- import the .FBX in Poser
- run sim in VWD
- export back to Poser and render.

As for boolean operations: that would require manifold ( a.k.a. 'watertight') shapes, so meshes in which each facet edge meets exactly one other facet edge. For non-manifold objects you cannot say what is 'inside' and what is 'outside' of the mesh. Meshes of objects in Poser in general are not manifold. If you have ever tried to 3D print a Poser figure you will know what I mean.

I have just purchased VWD 2 and loaded it into Poser 13 without problems or error mesages. I need to get the hang of the interface, of course, and get it to do something useful, but so far, so good. I had LaFemme 2 and a prop dress imported into the workspace, but trouble to find that 'simulate' button.
Only trouble i have had is that apparently the Poser library does not work (stays blank) if VWD is running.
I also checked the scripts. They all come as .py, so readable code and not in a binary encoded form. I found in the code no things that would not run within Poser, except one function call I did not recognize.
More to come. I will keep you all posted.

Two ways to get new versions of Poser for testing:
1: Poser 12 license is now available via Humblebundle at $25.-:
https://www.humblebundle.com/software/poser-12-3d-character-design-pack-software
Bondware confirmed this is fully ligit resale. I assume it also would make you eligible for upgrade to Poser13.
2: Poser13 has a free 21 days trial period. https://www.posersoftware.com/downloads
For Python 2 to 3 conversions: I usually start with a manual pass over the 'print' statements to put brackets around the arguments and from there work on error message feedback.

Gรฉrald,
The key difference is Poser12 and Poser 13 use Python 3. The API changes are mostly additions. Scripts that worked on Poser 11 usually work once the typical Python2->Python3 code changes are made.
The present Poser versions do not have a .pdf but there is online documentation:
The above is for Poser12. Initially it gives an error message but that is solved once you click a chapter.

I guess the Poser12 key is a full one that also makes you eligible for using the upgrade offer to Poser13, right?
So this effectively gets you both Poser12 and Poser13 for $25+$110=$135;

Good to see there's life here again.
I was a Marvelous Designer user, happy with MDBridge, but now that MD fully disappeared into the oblivion of subscription, the latest version with the Python interface still incomplete, I need a replacement.
If VWD works with the latest Poser version, I think I found that replacement now.
Thread: Hey.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes, that's exactly what programs like Poser were intended for: generate neutral base images for further artistic finish off in a style to the choice of the user. Alas too many users forget that last step. Apps like Dynamic Auto-Painter may help to improve that.
Thread: Nova New Character morphs and Creations | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Nova had one interesting feature: her 'A' pose zero. This is a major advantage when you work with dynamic clothing. After Ali's Angela and Ang2 this Nova and Neo were the only ready available figures in the Poserverse having this featuring this, and, at the time, reason for me to jump on, buy, and fix things on my copy.
Now there's LaFemme2. No reason to go back.

Render batches of these trees, grouped by distance from camera, on transparent background and use them as billboard props.
Thread: Darn DAZ..... DSON help (Poser 10) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Check with vendor.
DSON is/was? an add-on one had to install in Poser to read the obfuscated proprietary file formats DAZ uses. DAZ did not maintain/update it and I do not know if it is still available. AFAIK it did work with Poser10.
Thread: v4 hologram | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
A hologram is a projection of the outside appearance of a person not in the room. Best treat it that way: render hologram figure separately on transparent background and use it on a billboard figure in the final scene. Set the 'ghostiness' of the hologram via transparency and blur. Input via ambient only. Diffuse, specular etc. all zero/black. A holographic projection is not affected by scene light.
Make billboard face camera. Use magnets on the billboard geometry to create distortion of the projection. Play with z-depth render image plugged into the IOR channel to create distortion of the background for the spooky effect. In Firefly try z-map and displacement.
To turn a scene figure into a semi-transparent hologram you would have to take out all internal geometry and all backfacing polygons; quite a challenge and probably not worth the effort.
Thread: how to fix holes in the mesh in poser?, thanks in advance | Forum: Poser 13
Is it a really a hole ( missing facet) or just a facet with inverted normals? Is the hole still there when you render? If so, you can invert its normals in the group tool.
Adding a facet is easy when you know the numbers of the vertices defining it but these are difficult to get from Poser. Best load the mesh into a modeling app.

Where? The product is now available in the darkseal store. It's just fabulous!
A pointer would be appreciated. (Rendo does not allow external links but indications where to find are OK. See my reference to PE on CGBytes and Renderotica above.)
