Thread: Where are my pictures? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Okay...things were done and they can't be undone so for me there is no point in reiterating how callous and unprofessional admins behaved today (lol...I couldn't resist)...but what I want to know now is how does running a contest affect the normal operations of the site...especially since in most contest you can also post your images in the gallery...and please don't say copyright and trademark issues because if that's the case the whole digital comics gallery and contest page should be deleted and also about 1,000 images in the poser gallery should be deleted because logos have been used there all the time...and also how is it possible that admins and mods didn't know that a contest had ever been held in the gallery...I find this very hard to believe...for a while in the summer there was a contest image on every page in the gallery...and there was also some discussion in the forum about specific contest...and last but not least can the admins please state what their procedures are when deleting images and try to stick to it...going power crazy with the delete button hurts more than helps...admins have no problem announcing new forums I can't see why there would be a problem announcing new rules...Rendo has a right to restrict images from the gallery but next time I would suggest the action be done with a little respect for the artist, merchants, and customers. Personally I feel that Rendo only did this because people have ignored the contest page...most people have stopped entering Rendo sponsered contests and maybe the PTB felt that the reason for that is more attractive contest are being run in the gallery...I feel that they could have easily addressed the lack of contest images on the contest page either in the forums or newletters or maybe having enough sense to contact the people running the contest and politely asking them to use the contest page instead of basically threatening, reprimanding, and just deleting the competition. Rendo has behaved in a very shady manner...all of this could have been easily resolved without removing images and the irreplaceable comments associated with them...this was a very childish and hurtful manner in which to address a legitimate concern...Rendo wants it's hand in the pot but there were better ways to do this...I suggest that we just boycott the contest page until Rendo formally apologizes for their underhanded and callous actions. -sits in the corner and waits for this to be locked like every other thread rendo disagrees with- Jenn

Thread: Abuses of sensibilites, and copyright infringements | Forum: Community Center
"If this is the case here, then please tell me why some are banned and "warned" for what they say here.
After all if someone else does not like it, they can choose not to read it. Right?"
This is not a site run by Jenai21...it's a site run by Renderosity and because of that my John Mills' approach to freedom of speech doesn't apply. But as long as an image and/or comments abides by Rendo rules then it shouldn't be banned or warned and as LillianH has already said Rendo has been no problem with the image in question and so those here who don't want to see it have the right not to look at it. A lot of people don't like nudes...so they have the option of not looking at them or commenting on them...and if you do comment with your opinion as long as it's expressed in an intelligent non-troll like manner I can't see Rendo warning or banning the person.
I think rendo values different opinions as long as they don't become personal attacks, which often the people who are banned or warned launch into. (I'm not speaking for Rendo but from what I've observed) There have been many forum messages that have started as actual intellectual debate on controversial topics and has been turn into, "you suck, your mama sucks, I hate you" which is childish and sad because the thread gets locked before someone can steer the thread back to it's original topic. I personally prefer to ignore stuff like that and continue the original discussion because "it's free speech and if I don't like it then I don't look at it." But that's not how Rendo handles it. As long as people choose to act like 3 year olds I think Rendo will treat them that way and give everyone involved a "timeout".

Thread: Abuses of sensibilites, and copyright infringements | Forum: Community Center
I'm with you...I honestly don't look at propoganda post regardless of which side of the argument they are on...I come to have fun and be entertained as well entertain others if I wanted to be depressed I'd watch the news and lament the onesided views but I think a political button is a little overkill...most people label the genres of their images and so if a person didn't want to see images in that genre they could simply avoid it...World Events/Politics is always going to be controversial so if you can't take the heat don't click on the Poser & World Events/Politics or 2D & World Events/Politics, etc. images.

Thread: Abuses of sensibilites, and copyright infringements | Forum: Community Center
A simple suggestion-> don't look....although many may not agree with the statement it still has a right to be said...whether we like it or not this site is a community and in a community there are different opinions and since the beginning of time art has been used to make political statements and art offends its just a fact in life if you don't like what you are looking at you are always free to turn away or maybe be creative yourself and address your own political views in an artistic manner...also a combo of photos is generally called a collage and if arranged in an original and creative way with the intent to make a statement by the poster or with permission of the original artist it is not copyright infringement and to suggest so is just wrong in all senses of the word...copyright infringement is a serious thing among artist and it's just not professional or nice to bandy the word around without anything to back it up...I'm just saying it the way I see it...if anyone is offended I apologize for your hurt feelings but not for my words because that is how people like me feel...Jenn

Thread: Anyone know the artist of this pretty lady? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I am almost positive that this is one of Linda Bergkvist also know as Enalya. This is her copyright info copied straight from her site http://www.furiae.com: To simplify things: If you have to alter, crop, cut, change colours, add frames, edit features, or in any other way change the images - it is not okay to use them. For any use beyond that, read through the rest of the copyright notice. I'm sure it's mentioned there. I will not respond to any emails regarding anything I've already mentioned here - I just don't have the time to, I'm afraid. I am not resigning my copyright rights through this - if I change the rules later, you'll have to comply to the new ones. Here are the rules in detail- You will now be able to put my images on your website, if: 1) the website itself has no connection to either of the following: - porn - religion - commercial purposes - clipart/any kind of 'free graphics' use - websets/email stationery 2) the images themselves are completely unaltered save for perhaps a resizing. 3) you link back to furiae.com as well as add a Linda Bergkvist 4) you use no more than five images at the most. 5) you understand that it has to be a site not a forum signature, not a chat picture and not any kind of email stationery, webset design, or snowglobe, email signature or roleplaying game portrait. This also includes, but is not limited to - livejournal designs, web designs, icons for forums or journals and signatures. 6) you understand that it is not okay to use my work to promote your own site. Not in the banners and not in the design itself. I consider this commercial use. 7) you refrain from using my pictures to represent your own stories. They're part of different stories altogether. 8) you keep from using any of my commissioned work. 9) you refrain from direct linking. I understand that these are a lot of points to keep in mind, but my problem is this when I've had freer rules than this, my work has become clipart, or ended up on other peoples commercial sites without my being able to do anything about it. I have sold the stationery rights for the images, and I charge for use in web designs. As for the roleplaying games and the story use restriction... this is for entirely personal reasons. I create each and every image as part of my own storylines. To see them representing other stories is a little as if someone else copies your stories and uses them as part of their own. I'm sure most writers or artists can understand that feeling :] If I find sites breaking these rules, I will contact the site administrator and in some cases take legal action. If you have any further questions regarding copyright matters, send an email to copyright@furiae.com and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible.
