The Bryster wrote: "Mivan: Maybe I've misunderstood! Isn't it about TOTAL usage? BTW, I hope you're not suggesting my art is crummy...... " Like many others I'm sure, my renderosity gallery is my portfolio. If I delete images that have not gotten as favorable a response as others or earlier art how will people see any progress or growth in my art ability. The renderosity community is primarily comprised of individuals whose art perception is generally limited to "eye candy" digital. Landscapes, botanical, nautical and other subjects rarely get a second look. If I as an artist pander only to that limited segment of the art world then I am severly limiting myself. How does this help me to grow? I did not suggest that your art was crummy. In fact a few months back I had marveled at your Belveder Revisited image, and as a former Brycer realised how much work was involved in that render. Mivan

"Putting my preaching to the test, I'm going to weed the images that don't really come up to scratch out of my gallery. I think maybe others should do the same." The Bryster As I understand this the issue is number of people trying to upload, not the number of images stored. How does deleting images help the bandwidth issue? Nobody looks at crummy art anyway. "What do you mean with "take off the cookie"? Removing it from Windows you mean?" I just signed off and signed back on the my gallery images are now appearing again. This appears to be another glitch. Nothing to do with cookies evidently. Mivan

"This is not an art site for Arts' sake, this is a business enterprise, run by businessmen and accountants, not artists. " I have news for these businessmen. When I signed on this morning I found my entire gallery had vanished completely, over 50 images! If this is how business is conducted then I would suggest selling your stock immediately. Mivan

Thread: Image size constraint problem | Forum: Bryce
If I try to correct the existing settings from the render to screen file Bryce changes the second setting to correspond to something other than what I enter. My resolution is 100ppi. If I try to enter say 16 X 20 it comes out as 16 X 21.25. If I try to correct the 21.25 to 20, the 16 changes to something else. Same thing happens when I try to change the pixel dimensions. Mivan

Oops; I said I was doing the tagliatlle of the gods tutorial when I meant the disrupted fractals tutorialhttp://www.j.b.allen.btinternet.co.uk/fracttut/disfractut.html. Its too early in the morning here and I'm only on my second pot of coffee. Mivan

I've been trying to to the tagliatelle of the gods tutorial and some of the renders have been ok and some have not. The ps files are not compressed and the pixelation effect can be seen on screen in Bryce which kind of leads me to the depth of field theory. My camera may be too close to the cube. The only other thing I come up with is perhaps the original photoshop images may need to be square rather than rectangular to better fit the cube dimension. Mivan

I should have said grayscale generator. Sorry about that but I've been doing so many grayscale images lately things are getting crossposed with one another. The program produces images that can be imported as pgm files and makes great waves, hint hint. Mivan

Don't feel badly. I can't even upload thumbs at the same time as images. This has been going on for some time. Now I can't even upload jpg thumbs of 14k filesize. Mivan
Thread: Image upload problem cure. | Forum: Vue
I am very sorry and wish to apologise to anyone on the Vue list that I might have inadvertantly offended by posting my silly technical problem. It was discussed with one of the moderators first who deemed it a suitable topic for discussion. Obviously even though I was writing cobol back when we used punch cards for data storage and an advanced certification in Adobe Photoshop, I am unable to recognize a file that is bigger than 15k in size or degenerated load times. From this time forward I shall keep my technical questions and fixes to myself and avoid sullying this esteemed forum with further posts on the subject. Mivan
Thread: Image upload problem cure. | Forum: Vue
The problem has been going on for over two weeks. Queries to admin at renderosity went unanswered. I checked and rechecked file size and format. Why is it that uploads proceed just fine independently of each other if the formats are off? Also it is not a continuous problem and none of my programs have changed or been added to with the exception of Mike Audelmans gradient designer. Just asking. Mivan

If the shadow is supposed to be of something wolfish, hairy and scary, I'm sorry, but it looks more like Scooby Doo. Mivan
