Looking great! Doing an image map with that looks to yeild the most desirable and attractive layout. Keep us updated... or rather I'll probably keep an eye on the site :)

Yeah, I guess my photographing her was just a little bit flirtatious. I'll probably get her a good copy of it if she wants. Maybe see if she'll let me take other pictures so I don't overdue this one.
Thanks for the comments everyone,
Michael Kubilis

That's insane! I wouldn't even know where to begin with a project like that! Awesome job!

Sorry, not trying to be obsessed with fixing the image up. Just trying to figure out what works best. I honestly don't know how to fix pictures up very well. It seems hit-or-miss. So, Michelle, you preffered the original on the right? Just trying to make sure you knew ones were which. I just kinda thought the original on the right lacked more natural yellow tones and the whites stuck out a bit too much. So I guess it's a bit difficult to make any one image "perfect" color-wise :) Thanks for helping me learn as I try to get me feel for what can be done in photography. Michael

Well, no. I thought I'd take a good image and see how realistically bad I could make it! :) No, I guess I forgot to mention the obvious: the postworked on is on the left, the original on the right. I think the only change to the original up there was the flash color correction through the RAW import in Photoshop, but that change was only marginal.

Thanks for the info. I know that I will not be abusing the edit command with such a time delay knowing what you've told me. I hope to increase my skills and post my best always the first time :) Thanks for your comments on my photos, I can only get better. Thanks, Michael

Here's a quick example of the use of edit. My reason for doing this was that I didn't necessarily feel the need to post a new image when I was just making some tweaks. I've learned a lot about new touch-up methods using new masks available in Photoshop CS, and I like the results much better. Yeah, I know there's no comparison, but I'm just tweaking my "portfolio" here to make it better. Feel free to check it out and let me know what you think.

I've posted the 150x150 thumbnail in my December challenge entry post. I'm sorry that I forgot about the constraints.

Yeah, on a clear night, you can easily see the stars inside town, but once you get out where it's darker and your eyes can adjust, there's just so much more to see. Once I find some good nights when I'm free, I'm going to experiment with star trail pictures. Not quite sure how to get the best results from them, so if you guys have any tips on them, they'd be welcome. The current set of equipment that I use is as follows: EOS 10D, EF 50mm 1.4, EF 100mm 2.8, TC-80N3 timer controller. Both lenses have the exact same light gathering area (35.4mm openings), so both should produce the same results, right?
Again, I'll try to find time to get basic pictures of my town, but also find time to get out and find some other places to get pictures (I've been meaning to get to the Myriad Botanical Gardens in Oklahoma City, but I haven't found a good spot inbetween my school and work schedule)
I hope to learn a lot from communication and receiving feedback from you guys. Remember that I'm just a beginner, so feedback, both positive and negative, is definately appreciated.
Thank you all for your support,
Michael

dbyrd, is there a system that you would recommend from Alien Bee? There's quite a nice selection of components there!

I'd probably prefer to work with hot lights; I assume it'd be easier to see the lighting you're working with. I think something in the $500 range to start out with would work; hopefully that'll allow for a good amount of upradeability.

Well, I'm looking for a basic setup to begin with, but one that can be expanded. I would just like a good idea of a price range, so I can start saving money (I've seen a basic setup kit for around $500). Not sure if I could afford much different than a one-light setup and reflectors, but I wouldn't know where to start with those and how to get great results just from one light and a reflector.
