Thread: cameras in 5Infinite...help ! | Forum: Vue
You could open a new scene and check what the default cam's position and rotations angles are, then modify your scene's cam using these values... Or copy/paste the whole scene without the cam to a new scene.

You can save a new specy with modified textures using the plant editor. It will be a .veg file.

Would be interesting to have your alpha color and the mask posted here so that we could further investigate.

Also , you should make sure the transparency mask has soft edges e.g: apply some amount of gaussian blur on the mask. 'black and white' only would create a sharp edge similar to what is shown on your screenshot.

Thread: Underwater Caustics W.I.P. | Forum: Vue
1.A probability is that the sun light is too strong and drowns the spot effect.
In order to tune the caustics, you could make the sun color black, then tune the strength of the spot on the sphere.
Then, it is almost certain you'll want to resize the scale of the gel: the pattern could be much too big with the mapping/scale you have in the scene to be visible.
3.I believe it comes from the variable scaling being checked and the function is a constant -1 (it appears black on you screenshot) which means the instances are there, but microscopic/invisible.
4.Color. You can change any color you like. Loading or editing a color map. just add keypoint colors in the map where you need them.
This is mostly guesswork, hope it can help anyway :)
Thread: How to create a basic procedural gradient texture map? | Forum: Vue
Add Noise Node/Math Pattern to color production. You can choose Saw Teeth, Sine Wave etc.. , zero the axis you don't need. e.g: X and Z, keep Y then play with scale and origin of function to fit your needs. Of course you could also use a bitmap gradient in a texture node. Hope that helps :)

You should check in render options if 'Force use reflexion map' is checked. If so uncheck it or change the default reflexion map which is 1x1 black pixel. Hope that helps

I did not find the object either, but it is easily created on a billboard (alphaplane) that you can then use to populate the baseplane. The animated texture is present in bitmaps/animations (hint on how to set it on page 455 of manual). Also be sure to have the indeo codec from this link : http://www.free-codecs.com/Indeo_Codec_download.htm hope this could help Paul
Thread: Object question | Forum: Vue
Hi Markusthaman :) It is not clear to me what you mean by 'the object files don't work in Vue' I tried anim8tor (0.9) and the .obj obtained on object/export can be imported in Vue . also the .3ds are imported without problem. Once it is in Vue, if you choose 'save object' you'll get a .vob What version of Vue do you use ? and can you give more details on the prob you have ? Paul

Thread: New Vue user, need help! | Forum: Vue
A simple way to make a flat slab of terrain is the 'Altitude' button and typing any value in range (0, 200 )then paint with the brush (first create the terrain in editor with 'Generate fractal..' unchecked, or use 'Reset' in editor.) If it is only a part of the terrain you want flat, and local effects/diffusive erosion is not enough, use the altitude locally. Also you can export the terrain as a bitmap ('copy' icon in top bar of editor)then paste it in your favorite 2D app. White zones are high altitudes, dark ones low altitudes. Sure you can import geometry from ZBrush but I found that native Vue terrains are better (faster and less demanding in resources) than imported meshes. What you could do, is model the terrain in ZBrush, then make an 'alpha' of the model (tool in zbrush) and use this BW bitmap in a Vue terrain of the same size as the alpha. To load the image in Vue, use the 'Picture' icon in terrain editor, starting with a flat terrain (non fractal.)
