One more thing, is this thing intended to work with Mike or some other character? If mike, what version? I just finished all of MarkDC's making poser clothing in 3DSMAX tutorials and I am itching to try out what I learned.
Thread: Consensus or? on ProPack vs. Poser 5...please help new2Poser... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have both pro and Poser5. The only thing I have ever used poser 5 for is exporting hair for my P4 stuff. To be honest, Poser 5 takes twice as many resoruces and runs half as fast as P4 does. While the files are a bit easier to browse I just find it much more cumbersome than the old PP. If you are interested in fancy renders Poser5 is not the way to go. Any main stream modeling package that can import .OBJ files will do a much better job in my opinion.

I think all the male stuff is for sale, the BVH SWAT for vicky is the free item I assume you are referring to. Are you looking for a model that can be textured or the whole shebang? I might be able to come up with some sort of tactical vest, would be good to get away from modeling guns for a while as well. Textures on the other hand are not my strong suit, but I can try

Thread: Poser & XP file compression? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
XP's file compression is much better than in previous versions of windows. I do remember he hell that was windows 95-98 compression and yes it caused a lot of people a lot of grief. As for it corrupting, the simple answer there is back it up. Honestly a little lag inside poser is going to happen whether the files are compressed or not. Hell poser itself is just flat out slow, well P5 is anyway. If you are hurting for harddrive space then compression is the way to go, if HD space is no problem then I would leave it uncompressed.
Thread: Would like opinions/suggestions on first try at clothing for Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It looks pretty good to be honest. As for making it move with the character thats all a matter of the groups being named correctly so that when it is parented or conformed it will know what to do. The link that Karen posted is a good starting point and there are some tutorials available in the marketplace as well for poser clothing. One of them is a 4 part video session that I am watching now. So far I am very impressed.

Just hightlight the clothing item, go up to the figures menu at the top and choose conform from the drop down. Make sure you set the conform target to the correct figure(Usually this means Figure 1)

Thread: Poser on a laptop .... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
A few things to consider. Any laptop that will run the graphics programs with the speed you desire will also do anything else you want it to very well. So get all the RAM they can cram into that thing. Video RAM isn't necessary but if it is offered and can be had for a reasonable amount, get it. Alienware and Falcon are two of the high end suppliers so if you can afford them, you can't go wrong. My experieces with hardware both at work and at home keep me as far away from gateway products as possible. So far in the last 1.5 years we have replaced 378 faulty power supplies in our gateway machines, where as the dells, had one HD bad out of the box and no other problems so far. Gateway sent us enough power supplies to replace all of our machines twice after we had about 6 go out in one day. In my mind this says they expect it to happen again, and it did.

Well I got most of my Daz stuff reinstalled to P5, that generally arranges itself pretty well. Tonight I plan to unzip all of the zip filesI have ammassed over the years to one drive and sort through them. It's going to take a while but it should be doable.
Thread: Help needed with P5 render jaggies | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Speaking as someone who just got Poser 5 I am suffering from a bit of overload. One look at the hair room and I needed a valium and a few days off work. It isn't so much that the stuff from P4 is any more complicated but the new stuff is just, well, whipping my butt at the moment.

I suppose you might be able to rip the cabs open and yank out the runtime folder pieces you needed. Google for a .cab file editor and you should find a free utility. I have spent the last 3 hours installing stuff and have still yet to finish. You never realize how much stuff you have downloaded until you have to install it all at once.
Thread: Has anyone done this yet? The (my) Problem with M3. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think what makes him not look like a kid is the head. It seems to big for the body. Generally kids have limbs that are not suited to their frame either they are to short or to long. That might make him look a little more kid like.

3 Predatron 2 Aishai 1 Kassad Man voting is hard, even though Predatron had a lot of post work done it was still the most stunning image in there. Aishai had a great one two but it was a toss up between Aishai and Kassad. Sorry Kassad you lost the coin flip so you only got 1.
