The bridge & other bonus bits, plus blocks 051 to 055 are now converted, I'll be sending these over to Ajax in a few days once I've checked them over for errors, then I'll carry on with 56 to 60, hopefully these will be ready by the weekend, then it's over to Ajax with these as well so he can do his Poser magic on the lot. Cheers Billy

Just checked and it looks like the site hosting the files is gone, I'll contact the guy who was running it and see what happened, if there's no joy I'll have to find a new home for everything. Thanks for the heads-up Stefan. Katie if you want I'll email you the Antares, it's in 5 parts, so it shouldn't kill your mailbox. BTW, I'm in the process of upgrading the bridge set, I've learnt an awful lot since the first conversion of Moe's bridge, I'm only a short way into it, but I'll get there. Billy

What Ajax said, plus, the copyright for any Dystopia stuff brokered by DAZ still remains with the artist/modeler, DAZ only own the copyright if they purchase a product outright from it's creator, so they don't have a say on how either the models or textures are used commercially on these products. I wouldn't mind seeing the final draft of the project your working on, (and I believe the other guys would also like to see the finished work too), if you're allowed to do this, I like to see how people use these products in their own work, makes it all worth while. I do understand your problem with this copyright/trademark thing, I make signs for a living, and I know only too well the problems of copyright and trademarks. Billy

I'm with M on this one, I believe the copyright on these should be more of an intellectual thing, it'll basically stop people trying to cash in on the product thats M's concept, as someone once tried with M's free blocks, putting them up for sale on TurboSquid.
I believe it states in the read-me with all versions of the blocks that they can be used for both commercial and non-commercial use, and since the textures are also part of the collection, my thinking is they can also be used for commercial use, just not be sold on as someone elses work.
Like M said a tip of the hat would be nice, but not neccessary, we'de just be all smug and warm if we did get a bit of credit.
Cheers
Billy

Well I don't mind converting the traffic Moe, if you want to send it over. As for the close-up building props, as the guys said, they are already on the list of to do stuff. I already have a low detail set of entrance doors built to replace some of Moe's original ones, where textures are used instead of models, these where made to keep the amount of textures in the pack to a minimum, I could try to raise the detail on these and build some kind of proper entrance, then pass it over to Ajax to set-up in Poser, if possible using the textures already included in the Dystopia packs though this might prove difficult since the textures where not really set up for close-up stuff. I'm also trying to build an overhead road system, but with all the other stuff in the pipeline, (the next set of commercial blocks and the other set of free blocks), this is coming along at a snails pace, (not to mention that my modelling skills when compared to Moe's are pretty crap, LOL). Anyway, thanks all for some very interesting suggestions, and enjoy these blocks, I'm looking forward to seeing some cool images with them. Cheers Billy 8)

As Ajax said the first 20 free blocks a proving to be a lot more of a problem to convert than the newer stuff, (they are a good few years old now), especially the 2 point polys LW can use, they work a dream in LW but are totally usless in Poser, and as Moe didn't Know Poser at all when these were built he had no idea of the problems that would arise in converting them. Mason, that's a good idea, maybe we can sort something out along those lines in the future, "Dystopia the Early Years" or something. Cheers Billy 8)

There is one small problem with just splitting the vertices of a model without actually making sure first they all need to be split, on things like cylinders and spheres where you need the smoothing, every individual polygon will have a sharp edge which will in some cases ruin the look of the model, it's sometimes easier,(though usually still long winded), to use a proper modelling prog to split the vertices, where you can select just the parts you need to be sharp. Not sure if this would work with UVMapper, but if you select a part and then tell it us split the vertices, it may only split the selected part. Dunno for sure, must try it one day. Billy
