Lol, japanese investors...
You really need to check your sources on more than just that one chaecuna.
Try here for Daz investors: https://www.cbinsights.com/company/daz-3d-funding
Care to provide a link for any proof of Domoco investing in Daz3D at any point?
But you know, like many things. if it's repeated enough someone somewhere will believe. No matter how incorrect or fictitious the statement may be.
30 seconds of googling are sufficient to find this link; a bit of checking does wonders to prevent embarassment (aka passing for idiot ). B.t.w., it is DOCOMO, not Domoco .

Smith Micro wants to put a Kill Switch in for Poser, but is holding off for now (thank goodness) and now Daz is looking at DRM -but I'm not sure what they mean by it.
Nerd3D hinted about a "poison pill" to ensure Poser future. With poison pill people mean e.g. releasing the sources of a dying application as GPL. I have no idea if this is true, if Nerd3D was simply lying to soothe fears about SmithMicro "un-stellar" future or whatever.
I am not terribly afraid of long term future. Let's make it clear: without Poser and Studio, digital internet pornography would not exist. With such a high stake, anything is possible, even MindGeek stepping in and buying Poser/MangaStudio from SmithMicro or the whole DAZ from their japanese investors.

Dear Lenord, bagginsbill (Poser guru and Poser vendor) is extatic at seeing DAZ shoot itself in its feet with a 40mm grenade launcher ; users like me are less enthusiastic since DAZ moves are creating a lot of problems that could have been avoided.
What will happen? sheeple will enjoy DAZ heavier chains, everybody else will be encouraged to either go back to Poser or find free (pardon, libre) alternatives for humanoid figures. Maybe it is a coincidence but just yesterday I saw a Blender tutorial about creating mirrored Shape Keys (Blender's name for morphs).

Go to Blender or zBrush or Maya or 3DS forums and see how many people create humanoid rigged characters. It is not a black art for a few wizards, it is a common high-end skill for artists specializing into soft body modeling. The problem is that the number of real professionals who create Poser/Studio related content can be counted with the fingers of at most two hands and most of them are into hard surface (e.g. Stonemason).
Note to Kendra: how did Stonemason became Stonemason? being told that he was a "unique snowflake"? no, being told countless of times that his work royally sucked. After an appropriate amount of Gunnery Sargent Hartman-styled feedbacks, after an appropriate amount of elbow grease, Stonemason became Stonemason. One of the reasons this community does not (and likely will never) grow is the "be good children" attitude.

As already advised, deviantArt. The basic (free) membership is more than enough. No "momies" telling you to behave (it is a community of grown ups). Beyond posting your images, become member of the appropriate groups (I presume Poser and Terragen related) and submit your deviations there for more visibility.

What makes me mad is that the difference to create non-barbie dolls vs. barbie dolls is just firing up google image search and start checking your target. It is not advanced ethnography, it is just ELBOW GREASE (google it if you don't know what it is). And while you are using google, check for "average faces" so that you can sculpt vaguely realistic morphs.

All the effort every one has given to get genesis in to Poser. If everyone used all that effort on Dawn ,she'd be beyond killer by now.
Most Poser users are affected by an incurable Stockholm Syndrome w.r.t. DAZ products. The only thing that can stop a Poser user from using DAZ content is to have to leave the brain damaged & damaging Poser UI. Only when DAZ will release Studio only/DRMed/clouded content they will, crying aloud, look somewhere else.

99%of Venders females are hot ,sexy ,perfect ratio in there early twenty females. there only some much you can do with that.
And anglosaxon. Mediterranean characters (as causian as Rangarr Lothbrok, dear nazi/asatru fanboys/girls) are already cartoonish. When you go further away (e.g. to indian characters) you get into not the uncanny but in the ridiculus zone.

I'd say, by the way this figure is coming along, that it is the first serious contender as a Poser-native V4 killer I have ever seeing.

I dont understand how people became so dependent on premade "character " sets in the first place.
I just buy every morph pack available and dial in. Your own.
Why depend on vendors to create the exact looks you have in your head??
Because this would entail users to perform work beyond slapping some content in the scene, applying pose/material/lighting presets, clicking the render button and then calling themselves "artists"? The concept that elbow grease is the first plugin you need for your graphic application is not very popular in this community.

If it is like Blender, the bucket size is the size of the image slice you render (e.g. 256x256 pixels). You should try different sizes and check the times to find the optimal amount for your system and type of images.

'Cause the product renders are better. :)
This is the real reason: DAZ quality requirements for promo images are very high and strictly enforced. Even a simple cube rendered with those quality standards, would look better than the average product you see in other shops.

But I must ask the question; If all V4 content can be refitted with the ease implied by the figure maker then what is the incentive for people to buy new Content made specifically for the figure??.
Would it not make better economic sense to spent the next year after its release, trying out all of the V4 clothing before spending more money??.
And this still ties the figures fortunes to the aged V4 in a substantial way at any rate
These and other Small market realities, too numerous to mention, are why I dont see how this figure offers any subtantial long term shift in the current paradigm.
Just one man's measured & unemotional opinion.
Maybe it will be an incentive to create new content and not to rehash old one.
For example, over DAZ I saw a maid dress for G3F which is nearly equal to the dozen of maid dresses made in the last 15 years. Meanwhile a partial recap of the situation for Asia:
I'd say that beginning to support the traditional clothing of 1/3 of human kind is more urgent than deliver the nth maid dress, isn't it? so, if there is no more market for maid dresses, the better.
