Quote - Please don't group me with kneejerk reaction types
Oh, no. My post wasn't directed at you for being those types. It was that you shouldn't call yourself idiot for having an opinion. If you thought that V4 was subpar, even if you later changed your mind, you still are not idiot for thinking that way. Please, give yourself more credit than that. Don't anybody tell you how you should be happy or not.
As a matter of fact, you were one of those who I meant when I said I wanted to thank those who provided renders and reviews of V4. You actually convinced me on my decision to buy V4 with your renders of GND2 like figure.
Thread: I'm an idiot (but you know that already) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Alright, I'll bite.
It's just my opinion but I have no issues with people complaining about the product they bought and are discontent with it for whatever reason. They spent their money and it's their right to feel whether they are satisfied with it or not. No one's forcing anyone that they have to be happy with it or else.
With that said, what I find, and many others that have already expressed in other thread, is that I see alot of impulse buying whenever a new product is introduced. It's not just V4. I've seen it with previous released figures, the contents, and many other 3D programs. I don't know if it's because of the hype, the need, or whatever it is, I see so many people just throwing their money around at these new releases as if it's the best thing ever. Again, this is not my problem, it's your money and you can do whatever you want with it. But what bothers me is the consequences thst results from this that rest of us have to deal with. And this isn't really directed at this forum only. I see alot of knee jerk reactions, especially at DAZ forum, from those of who either, failed to read what exactly they were buying, expecting everything to be perfect out of the box, or just upset about everything about the world, okay maybe not the last one.
It's all just common sense. No one's forcing anybody to buy these stuff. It really shouldn't hurt anyone to be little patient and wait for the dust to settle before jumping on to the checkout. Sit back and read the reviews. Enjoy and preview the renders by others who are so kind enough show off what they bought. Do some research on your own to see if the product is below the standards. And if it is indeed below the standard, then what better way to send them the message than hitting them where it hurts, their pocket. Just be a responsible shopper, that's all.
My post isn't directed at anyone in specific, more like a random rant actually. And in fact, I want to thank those of who took their time to provide in-depth and comprehensive reviews of V4, and they know who they are. It really helps alot when I am trying to decide whether I should fork over my hard earned dollars over a simple hobby.
Thread: V4 Morph Options Disappointing | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I DO agree.. a product called FULL morphs ++ really should have had all the morphs in it. I suspect we'll see a "full morphs +++ with muscle morphs, and a full morphs +++++ with creature morphs next week from daz as well...LOL!
But what really is the "Full Morphs"? Is there any definitions that says "Full Morphs" is suppose to include every known morphs there in the world? Is it not Full morphs if they include all the morphs they have available at this moment?
If I'm not mistaken, they've posted the list with all the available morphs, right? Isn't that really only thing that matters when deciding to buy a morph pack, to actually read what you are buying?
And how's it a rip off when there's this thing called 30 day unconditional money back. If someone feels like they got cheated, then what's stopping them from getting their money back?
Sorry, I'm just confused.
Thread: All or nothing attitude: V4 vs. V3 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ha, you think this is bad, just wait till P7 comes out. This board will be flooded with complaints, whining and freaking out as if it's the end of the world. I've already seen the preview of it and that was even before Reason #1.
Thread: Regarding V4 and Muscle Morphs, for people who like some muscle on their ladies | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm just curious, did they release V4 with limited morphs because so many people complained about the Inj/Rem method with V3?
Because, if you look at A3, she has all the morphs built in, but the morphs are very limited compared to V3, hence it brings the file size considerably smaller. And yes I understand that A3 is based on anime style, but when using the realistis morph it then becomes limited.
Like I mentioned in other thread, I just can't imagine Daz preloading all 100+ meg size of morphs all at once. They gotta be planning releasing all the extra morphs as a way of using the Inj/Rem channels.

Quote - chinnei - gnd is a v3 morph. v4 is a whole other figure. for an example of the difference in level of difficulty, aery soul provides morphs for their custom characters (kielo, yaara) in contemporary products. they say they will not convert their clothing to v4 or any other figure because it would take them too much time. everything i've ever read of clothing creating is that the shape is the comparatively easy part. the hard part is joint parameters, grouping and poke through.
I should clarify, when I said "convert", it meant in terms of fitting the geometry of the clothing to fit other figures. To me, this is the most time consuming part, probably because I'm very picky when it comes to geometry of the clothes.
You might be right about grouping, since V4 has different chest and leg grouping, but I don't find it too difficult than changing grouping between other unimesh figures. As far as making it conform, I let setup room handle that with few clicks of button using the already existing figure, or base clothing as a donor bone. Even though I said GND, I've manage to fit several clothes to A3, V2, SP3, or even M3 and vice verse, using this way. Like I said, it might take some time to getting used to at first, but once you get hang of it, this might be the best way to conserve all the V3 clothing that people have.
Thread: V4 - Early review | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
For those who are complaining about lack of clothing, I would strongly suggest to take your time and learn how to use the magnets. Magnets, along with little help from external modelling program such as Hexagon or Wings, it really is not that hard to convert V3 clothes to fit V4, the tools are all right there for you to learn and use. Although might be little time consuming at first, I've converted just about all my V3 clothes to fit GND this way, and it fits so much better than Clothes Converter, Tailor or WW. Also, there's a way to use clothes room to fit simple clothes, do a search and you'll see.
Bottom line, if people are so dependent on others to provide the content for them, guess what? You are just gonna have to wait on their schedule, or play around with the nekkid figure. It's just the way it's always been with the new figures, V3, M3, GND, you name it. Meanwhile, I'll just sit back and wait for all the dust to settle down, as usual with all other new figures, because there's already more than enough figures to play around with.

Quote - but now this looks like an assasin market where you talk about memberships against non-members, of privileges of information, about 'I'm a member nah-nah-nah so I can and you can't nah-nah-nah', holding in your hands the TOS like a warhammer to smash your opposite...
I don't view it like that at all. I havn't seen anyone who have the PC membership posted here only to gloat against those who doesn't have access.
Remember, this whole thing started because the original poster provided a link to a members only forum. Now, who knows what was the intent of that poster to provide the link that can't be accessed by everyone. Do you really think it was done to tease those who doesn't have the access? If that was really the intent, then you should take the issue with that person. Because, as far as I'm concerned, rest of the other PC members only posted about why the images cannot be posted because of TOS. It wasn't them who posted the unaccessible link and telling you to join the membership.
I don't have the membership myself either, but I don't have issues with people posting links to members only forum. If I can't access it then I just move on and ignore the thread. But I could certainly understand how you could view it as teasing.

Quote - Given that we have finite lifetimes & a finite amount of time to spend on art, would you rather spend your time bemoaning & criticizing the crappy stuff or creating & appreciating the good stuff?
Exactly!!!
First of all, I don't consider myself as an artist or whatever name people wanna call me, as I really don't care. I only use Poser as a hobby, just for fun, that's it,
Second, who cares if people use "canned" textures, or props or whatever. Let them use whatever they wanna use and however they want. It's their choice. If some real "artists" think those are not worthy, well too bad!!! Go ahead and create your own almighty "artworks" and pat yourself on the back. Why bother wasting your time complaining about crappy stuff that so frustrate you.
Penguinisto:
Btw, I've just took a quick look at your gallery expecting to see some eye popping masterpieces considering that you seemed to have this "art" stuff all figured out. Well, let's just say that I've seen many other NVIATWAS with way better lighting, composition, and shadows etc. Maybe you should consider buying yourself one of those "canned" elements to learn about improving your "artwork" first before criticizing others for their crappy stuff.
Just a harmless suggestion from a seven-year-old kid busting into an art competition with a glued-together macaroni. Have a nice day.
Thread: The incredible Streching Morph | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I also get this issue as well when I export to Hex and Import back into the Poser, even when I don't make any changes in the Hex. The resulting morph, when loaded using morph target, is very slight and unnoticeable when the morph dial is only moved 0-1. But you can clearly see the entire body part move when the dial is moved drastically. I think the problem lies when exporing out of the Poser, that the figure is not completely zeroed even though all the parameter dial says so. (Trust me, I've checked every single parameter dials and manually entered zero on every single one just to be sure.)
Plus, this problem doesn't happen when I export using the option "As Morph Target", as in no world transformation. So, the figure is either off center in default, even very slightly, or the position of the figure is altered when loaded from the library.
Personally, it's not a big issue for me because I don't notice this as long as morph dial is moved within the reasonable range. But it's one of those annoying thing that really bothers me because I don't want every vertices to be altered when exported to Hex.
Thread: Few questions about Aiko3... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hehe, well I guess I'm in the minority here on perferring the injection method then :) Thing is, it only takes me a minute or two to load all the morphs (either for V3 or M3), and that's only when I need to create a character. Most of the time when I save is when I'm working on a scene, and last thing I want is 10-15 files of a saved scene with each taking up about 100-200MB.
With a V3 stripped everything down, even the expression morphs, and injecting only the custom character, each scene costs me only 20-50MB at most with clothing and buildings all included. Plus, I can't stand scrolling through all the unused morphs in the parameter everytime I need to make a change to a morph. And I can easily work with several characters in the scene without dragging the system down, and and and..... Well, at least that's how I look at it anyways :)
Thread: Few questions about Aiko3... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - but everything else is basically self contained as far as Aiko is concerned.
I see. Just curious, do you know why they decided to preload all the morphs for only A3? Because, if I am not mistaken, all the other mil figures have Inj/Rem morphs. The reason why I ask this is obviously the large file size issue. For example, for V3, I even stripped out all the preloaded expression morphs from the head because it bloated the saved file.
Thread: Poser 7 New morphing tools | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I could really use a new morphing tool that's much more precise than magnets. I was hoping for something similar to Tweak tool in Hexagon. I find it too cumbersome to export to outside program just to make a small detailed morphs when all I need is just few polygons moved around.
Thread: Fur Cloak? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Are you talking about a headpiece for the Norse expansion pack?
Hmmm, I've never seen this pack before, but I think I could definitely use this together with the fur cape. Thank you.
Thread: Fur Cloak? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the link netta!! It looks pretty well made, especially considering it's a freebie. The fur is kinda different than what I was looking for, but I guess I don't have much of a choice either. I'll still keep look around to see if one comes up, but I'll probably use this one in the end.
Thanks again.
