"You could delete James casual *and load the other james from the Figures folder and your morphs will work. You can then go to the props folder and use the James clothes that are conforming clothes.
A good tip would be to open P6 and then delete james casual. Delete the lights and add one white light and arrange your window to the size and lay out you like. then click on one of the UI dots to save that*."
Just a small word of clarification: "delete James casual" here means "delete James Casual from the scene", NOT from the library...
Deleting James C from the library would delete him for ever. Deleting him from the scene only affects that scene.
Sorry if this is over-pedantic, but you never know who's reading the thread and could get the wrong idea...

Thread: One thought about the challenges..... | Forum: Bryce
Devil's advocate:-
That would totally destroy any hope of posting WIPs and requests for help...which is the main reason I like challenges.. (Not that I do much in Bryce these days, 'cos of paranoid fear of suffocation in the comfy chair.)

Many thanks to both of you, I will try that tomorrow (on a single obz to start with..)

"so im d.loading it, then i dunno.. are there any good storage places online??? so i could store it till i get home?:)"
Why not e-mail it to yourself? If necessary, set up a new (free) e-mail account just for that purpose..

Thread: Splitting your figures in Half. Blending 2 textures with nodes. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"You can get more than 3 masks out of a coloured image if you want to."
You probably can, but I don't know how to, not and keep all 256 levels of greyscale for each mask...
Anyway, I find it confusing enough separating and re-combing the masks with just 3 of them, let alone more. I'll let the experts like yourself do all the difficult stuff:-)

I don't know, but just checking.. I assume you're closing by hitting "OK", not by just closing the window...
That's caught me out before...

Just to add to the confusion....
Don't forget that you can use the math->component node to extract just the red, blue or green part of an image.
Set the component to 0=Red, 1=Green, 2=Blue and plug the pic into the Color input.
This also has the advantage that you can combine 3 masks into a single image by giving each maska pure shade of RGB and extract just the part you want. You can even overlap them as long as you make sure that the overlapping bits are correctly coloured (EG where Red overlaps Green, shades of Yellow). This can easily be done automatically in any competent 2D app.
You'll still be able to isolate the individual maps...

Thread: dynamic. how t make that piece of cloth to go down w/leg's angle? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"BTW where have learned all that?"
LOL!
I've been using the cloth room since shortly after it was introduced, in Poser 5.
I learned it from a) the manual, b) lots of experimentation and c) by asking here in the forum:-)

"I foun out that is possible to Edit the Rigid De...(btw what it means is a part that is supposed to stay put whenevr th body moves?)"
Almost:-)
Rigid Decorated is stuff like buttons, which are not supposed to deform. They will move as the supporting cloth moves, but will retain their shape.
Soft Decorated is almost like Rigid decorated, but the soft decorated area will flex a bit as the underlying cloth moves. Useful for pockets.
Both Soft and Rigid decorated are usually (and preferably) separate geometry. That is, the mesh/meshes for the decorated bits are not connected to the underlying cloth.
"Point is these dresses have one or max two parts in it. When I add one part to EDIT comes all together w. red tiny points (to show the textiile movent's possible?)".
To create a constrained group: after clothifying the dress hit Edit Constrained. It is usually best to work in "hidden wireframe" mode for editing groups, since then you can see easier where the vgertices are. Draw a small rectangle around the area you want to constrain. Any vertices within the rectangle will turn red and are now part of the constrained group. (You have to be fairly close up to use the editor with any accuracy, and you will probably want to use a different camera so as not to lose your piont-of-view.) Work around the figure, adding more points if necessary. Don't add too many - usually three or four are enough. All the red points are constrained and will stick to the body.
Hope that helps,

"Also have minized the settings in:
strecht , and so on..for 1.0 and resistance for 1 too.
the dress falls all over and leaves the top nude..quite nice but not exactly what I want..."
INCREASE stretch, not minimise it:-) That'll stop it falling off..
Decrease fold resistance so that the cloth errrmm.. folds more easily.
"I just found out that can't put the windown as part to collide against...the dress wrapps up that one too as if were the body."
You MUST collide with the window or else the cloth will just fall through it.
However, you must leave room between the window and the body for the cloth, more than is realistic. If the cloth-room finds there's not enough room it starts panicking and chucks vertices all over the place.
As for how to do it....
One trick is to move the window+wall back away from the figure in frame one, and let it move forward into the correct place during the simulation.
I, too, would recommend at least 90 frames for this sort of picture, and leave quite a lot of frames at the end with no figure movement, just to let the cloth settle..

Thread: 1-way mirror "trick" | Forum: Vue
Hi nruddock,
I think I'll stick with my own method. It seems to work, it doesn't involve any "exotic functions" or special lighting and it's quick'n'easy to do.
It'll be good enough for what I want to do, and I'm happy with it :-)
It does what I want it to: Doesn't reflect the green sphere (not very much, anyway - I might want to increase that a little in the glass front) and I get the semi-infinite reflections for the enclosed objects. ("Semi" infinite 'cos I only upped the no. reflections to about 15 - that was enough for this simple test.)
I only posted in case anyone else was wondering "how to". If anyone is and can't understand my somewhat terse explanation of what I've done I'll be happy to explain in better detail.

Not sure if this is the same thing, but maybe Lens Flare? In the Object Properties Panel (at top) for the light... Lens flare is the top (tiny) Icon at the left of that panel. R-Click it to edit flare properties.

Thread: Is there hair like this available (for V3)? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
@flibbits - Ahhh - so I'm not going mad! I got the same thing (except I don't have Japanese enabled for my fonts, so I got babble-de-gook). In fact I got the same for anything after #5, which (probably not by co-incidence) is the last link that refers to the Archive..
@EnglishBob - that's almost exactly what I'm looking for:-)Â Now I've seen it, I can almost work out how to create my own if I can just sort out the UV mapping and the texture....
And that thought caused me to ponder: I wonder if I can use careful renders of the dynamic hair as a basis for creating the textures? Hmmm... food for thought..

Thread: Totally OT: Anyone interested in Wildlife films? | Forum: Bryce
Ummmm... OK.
Maybe it's a browser problem.... I don't know.
I'm using Mozilla SeaMonkey and it works on that. Don't know if any extra plug-ins are needed 'cos if they are I've obviously already get them..

I used to call my PC "Yukinbstrd" til I found out that my intermittent boot-up problems were caused by a faultily wired mains plug...
Fixed that. Now it's called "Turn Me On"...
