The only problem in this kind of product is that it seems to change scale on its own, and the wardrobe usually  develops poke-throughs VERY SOON and you are forced to buy everything again and again and AGAIN!!   :biggrin:

(In my case, the problem is worse: I have twins!)

Well.... yes, I have heard of it.... a little....  actually I am the biggest Italian fan of it!  :biggrin:

Seriously, Gundam had a MAJOR impact on my childhood. I was 10 when the first RX-78-2 was delivered for the first time to the White Base in Side 7, and the concepts of "second generation robot" were absolutely new.

For the first time, a giant robot was seen as a simple MACHINE, not an invincible mechanical super-hero. It was basically a TANK and there was also an explaination (although quite simplified) for its humanoid form. It had FUEL, it had AMMUNITION, and it could run out of it. It could be damaged, could need replacements and spare parts, and so on.

(It had an on-board learning computer! I decided to study Comupter Science because of it!)

And... the story! Until Gundam, every Japanese mecha anime was basically the same thing: an Holy War of a single hero who defended the Earth against the Bad Guys From Outer Space.

Gundam was a new approach. There were no "bad guys". It was not an epic story of Good Men against Evil Aliens. It was a dirty war of men against men, and each side had its own motivations, strenghts and weak points.

It was not perfect: after all it was anyway a commercial show, made to sell models, and many points of the plot were slightly childish. But it was a start, a pioneer, and it had, has and always will have a special place in my heart!

My project (as usual for me) involves re-creating a whole character from scratch, that is, face, hair, tattoos, clothes, and so on.

Shoes are the first step in this project because they are very particular. They are running shoes like these ones:

I am not even able to draw a circle with a pencil. My father was a great painter, mostly of nature subjects (birds, landscapes and so on), but I have not received his gift.

I prefer words: I am always been a writer. I have written a lot of science-fiction novels and short stories (in Italian language of course) and I have even won a couple of literary contests.

In 2005 I have started a series of novels about a modern young girl who suddenly discovers to be able to pass through walls and solid matter, and decides to use her new powers like a "real" super-heroine. I wanted something to help me visualize certain scenes of the novels, and to give some flesh to the characters. But, as I said, drawing in the classic way was out of reach for me, so a friend suggested to try Poser. And the rest is history.

(but I am still a writer in my heart. The collection of my Phantomgirl stories has been published on Amazon, and I am very proud of them!   )

After three years of Poser experiences, I have decided to learn modeling. So I have "purchased" Blender because the price is just right for me.

But after reading 3000 messages which say "it's an hard program", "it's a nightmare", "terrible learning curve" and so on, I must confess I am a bit scared. So I have installed it but not yet launched.

After all, I am getting old and I am no longer a teen with a sharp and quick mind!

I wonder if I will be able to understand something of it and to produce some 3D, or if I'll spend six months just to create the classical teacup....

Really? Well, we'll see.... Not my problem, anyway. Obviously I made regular backups of my data, and if the machine develops a problem all I have to do is to return it to my IT department and ask for another one. Managing warranties and defects is their job.
