Hey,if I can find any plans for lifeboats on the net or otherwise,I'll give it a try!.
I make models as .obj 'cause Lightwave won't export big and complex stuff as 3DS but all 3D apps can cope with .obj models.
Sign me up as a crew!...Cap'n.
Cheers! Jed.

Hi,great idea!
Ihave made a few ships with Lightwave and considered how I could help the RNLI with them.I thought of putting a readme asking for donations to RNLI or similar in the download .zip.But realised that it may not conform with the host sites policies.
If you get your website up and running it would please me if you linked to my freebies or any of my pics here at Rendo.
If you check my site you will realise that my stuff is rather pre RNLI but I am slowly working my way through the centuries,I'll soon be at the C20th .
Regards Jed.
Thread: Bought some Scenes a bit of a rant. | Forum: Bryce
You bought scenes!...wow,they must have looked great!
Better by far to experiment yourself. The best way to learn and most rewarding!
As you have realised these scenes and those we all create are limited regarding camera position. Some times creating a theatre-like set to be used many times is an excellent idea, but as with theatre the illusion only works when you are sat in the stalls!
If you need advice, just post to this forum, there are some very tallented and technically brilliant members who will help.
Cheers! jed.

Hi,I'm still on Bryce 5 and set the resolution to 800x600 first thing.Wish there was a way to set this as default!

Why not experiment with a semi-transparent plane right up close to the camera!

Thread: Can the Nao Preview be increased ? | Forum: Bryce
Would be great if the nano previewer was like the terrain editor one,up to 384x384,rendered,real-time...all singing, all dancing...pity its only for terrains!

What? all that work and it's a pocket battle ship!...wierd how an object from one app never fits another!!!.I work from .jpg or .bmp files of model-makers plans and Lightwave has a pulmonary embolism if I try to use large background images.I need those to create a 3d model close to the real thing.
Perhaps work should progress without such a Behemoth!..Forgive me for creating such a monster!! ....It,s not all about size, its what you do with it!(so I hear!)
Cheers! Jed.
Thread: how do I make a decal type masked image in Bryce? | Forum: Bryce
Hi!,this tut uses the same method you need.A whole building facade or a simple square, the principle is the same!.The second image in the picture editor acts as a mask...good luck!

Yes Fran,I didn't want the ship to be too specific, and the bow and stern details were clumsily done. But if anyone wants to add a name I gave these these panels different titles so they could be given any name, patterns, etc. As for a figure head, many freestuff characters could be used.

Thanks Fran,
So if anyone is interested here is the link to the freeby. It is untextured but only needs about 10 or so textures to look fine.
