Yep, the update solved my problems. Wish I'd had a chance to read this right away, I'd have saved you two days.

Really, really nice Jim. If I see much more of this, I'm going to hang up my hat. You are one of the people here who are just really hard to catch up with!

I haven't done it yet, but I understand that they are. I believe they even have the same file extension for the samples in 3dmax. I'd give it a whirl, but I'm tied up in two other hot projects at the moment. Do you know someone that can give it a try for you?

Poppi, Hang in there. I haven't done a lot here yet, but I've seen work from artists like LadyLight. I think she said she does all her renders and lighting in Poser. At any rate, her stuff is fantastic. Keep reading here, and trying it out, you'll bet better as you go. :-)

Is their server in California? Could have been one of those rolling blackouts going on this week.
Thread: Beaded Curtain Prop Search | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Another idea would be to use one or two flat planes, and then put a "beaded curtain" material on the planes. If you have a good modeling program, you could drape the planes however you want. Transparency mapping would make the space between the beads see-through. That is the best way to keep the size down; otherwwise, like everyone said, your model will get horrifically large. Wish I could point you to the right material, but I haven't seen one like that yet. Might not be hard to build though, if you have a good paint program. Just draw 6-10 beads on a string, and then replicate a lot. Seems like the material would be straight and the 3d aspects would come from how you put ripples and curves in the object itself. Or you could model 6-10 spherical and ovoid shapes in a modeling program; render them out, and use them as the bead models in your paint program. Hope PhilC solved your problem and you're already rendering!

Very nice, I hope to do that well over the next couple months with my first texture. I'll have to try out that hair, it does look really nice!

I like the eyes, facial texture and palm print. Very good. The hair texture seems to be inconsistent; is there something more you can do with that? The top of the material on the bikini top looks "puffed" or "ribbed"; is that the look you want? Finally, what might be the hardest, the fingertips need more polygons. I don't think thats something you can resolve in Poser. If I was working on this pose, I'd probably take the one hand to Max, and increase the polys, then import it back in to replace the original hand. Perhaps one of the more experienced members can tell us if the hand polycount can be increased by working on the model with magnets? I've not had much luck with those in Poser.

I've been working on a project like this. The morphs at www.morphs.bbay.com helped me out a lot. You may run into some areas where you need to export the head to Viz to tune it up as you go along. I've done that, and I'm building new morphs as I go to solve my particular problems.Thread: Help with Marjorie's eyebrows | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm in the process of creating a Morph where the "Grocho Marx" eye-brows are flattened. I haven't seen a morph for that; and I'm assuming most people just set the colors the same and work with it as JeffH said. I'll try to get it done this weekend, and get it out in free-stuff, if that will help.

Thread: P4 fem hi poly replacement chest now at freestuff | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm a little confused. How does this P4 hi poly replacement compare to the Eve figure? I've heard/read that Eve is more detailed and better "animated" than the P4 fem figure. Is this type of work headed in that direction, more or less detail, better detail, or just different?
