4 cores makes me sniffle and 8 cores makes me cry like a baby. I was planning a serious new comp in sept but my partner just recieved her redundancy notice as the company she works for is re-locating its centre of operations. Sooooo my current Win xp 2.6 and 2G ram is just going to have to keep on truckin.

Thanks for bringing this up Ross and the the others for the solutions. The memory issue with bryce is one that should have been addressed way back. I also have a problem with preset folders in B6.3 freezing yet the same folder in 5.5 is fine. Just to clarify that a little, I use B5.5, 6.3, and 7pro with the same preset folder copied into each version.

Quote - You need to make sure that every little bit that goes to make up the object has a boolean property assigned to it.  For instance if you use a sphere to cut out part of a cylinder and then grouped those two together - that resulting group also needs to have a boolean property assigned to it - in other words don't leave anything at 'Neutral', no cube, or sphere - or group.

So if you have used primitives, and/or terrains, or lattices to intersect, cut out or join - and grouped those primitives at each separate operation - then each of those primitives - and their groups need to be changed from Neutral in order for the accumulation of boolean operations to have all worked & to include everything in the final object.

I may very well be wrong on this, but does'nt convert to mesh only work on objects which have been booleaned and also are you grouping the entire object before exporting.

Sorry cedarwolf and richard it can't be done with Hex or Bryce. I just downloaded a very nice model from share cg in" lwo" format and tested it in both. But in saying that, back in the recesses of my old befuddled brain I'm sure that I used to load them into "Truespace" and export to "obj" from there, and, I have a feeling also that earlier Bryce (2,3,4,) used to handle "lwo".

Chris, I feel your pain, I have the same problem with my riverboat. In fact my XP comp is way passed it's use by and struggles to run either B7pro or DS4pro without freezing or crashing completely despite having 2G of ram and a 256 Graphics card. The problem as I see it is that Daz are too focused on adding new features and content than the actual functionality of the apps,eg, the effort it took to add the "particle emitter" which nobody uses would have been better directed towards the memory issues that in my opinion is far more important as the memory issue is preventing Bryce from reaching its full potential as a 3D app. "sheepishly gets down fromm soapbox and dissapears back under a bryce rock"

I've used Kendalls fix with no problems once I found out how to change the file name, also wanted to say I've Never had a problem with AV, am using Symantec Corporate edition.
