Nice job on the development. The test images look great! I know what a pain development can be. I just spent months on a mod for Neverwinter Nights - a total PNP conversion. Players always find bugs you miss.
Thread: Some fun with zdepth | Forum: Vue
Yeah I've played around with alpha masks and zdepth since bryce. I use PhotoImpact. It is a good way to add a type of DOF without the long render times. You can also control the depth by changing the brightness and contrast of the zdepth alpha. Mario, an expert Brycer, over at 3DCommune, wrote a tutorial of how you can make neat light rays by custom making an alpha mask. For example you could render a scene normal. Then duplicate the scene and save it under a different name. Then create some long, stretched cones, apply a transparent material to them that look a bit like beams of light, then change the mats of everything else in the scene to solid black, and render again. In your post program, add the new mask scene to the original render as an "inverse of multiply" layer. Only the light parts in the mask will show up (aka. the light cones). You could even add color to the mask layer to make the light rays yellow or blue, whatever.
Thread: Vue 6 Pro crashes after I import a Poser character. Why oh why? | Forum: Vue
What operating system do you have? I am using Vista Home Premium and had a serious problem with crashes. I was told to switch the options to run it in XP compatability mode. Just doing this one thing has helped quite a bit. It still occasionally crashes but not nearly as much. I have exported from Daz Studio and imported and not had much of a problem. Certainly NOT crashing every render attempt. That's my 2 cents. To get more help, I suspect you'll have to be more specific about your specs.

Hey Gill, you'd like my chair. It used to have the same material you see on the back (burlap type stuff). And the seat pad wore out. I re-upolstered the seat and arms with ultra-leather. The seat is tripple padded (never sink down to the wood at 190lbs) and the arms are double padded). It's pretty comfy!

Thread: vista home prem . vue 6 xStream.eon crashing | Forum: Vue
Yeah folks are complaining about this on Eon's forums including me. I now have a "lemon" file (scene that will not load - crashes), didn't feel right about calling it a boat anchor since it's software. I'm really not happy about paying $750 for a program that is crashing more than any other software I own!
Am using Vista Home Premium with SP1
Vue Infinite Version 6.60-04
