I have found that PYC files have the path hard coded into them. That is the path to the file on the computer that they were compiled on not the path on the computer that they are run on.
At least I have found this in relation to some Wardrobe Wizard files, others may be similar.
So this could be that I have not loaded the lights and indeed content to the default location favoured by the installer?

Hi all,
Thanks for your help on this.
I have re-installed P11P and deleted the old dson files as directed.
I have also as advised installed the P11P content along with my other runtimes on a large seperate drive.
Having installed the dson files to the P11P directory it all seems to be working fine now.
Thanks for your help. Not really sure what the problem was TBH but your advise helped me solve it so much appreciated.
Regards
Martyn

DAZ Install Manager obviously hasn't been yet been updated to reflect the existence of Poser 11. Try setting it to Poser Pro 2014 until they do. I'd download DSON importer from your DAZ Product Library and install it manually. EDIT; I reread your post; I think you need to reinstall it for PP2014 manually, too.
As far as loading Genesis' conforming clothing, try Scripts>DSON Support>Transfer Active Morphs and see if that makes it fit...
Hi WandW
Thanks for replying.
I did try the manual install of PP2014 but it didn't stop the crashing.
I am tempted to uninstall PP2014 and P11P and start again LOL.
I elected to install to the public directory as opposed to the old style runtime and I am thinking I should just install to a conventional runtime this time and see how we go.
To confirm though. Am I okay running two different versions of poser on my primary drive or is it better to just have one?

There are more on turbosquid but not for free.Â
Perfect Kalypso, just the job. Really appreciate your help on this and I have also got another site for my props etc that I never knew existed.

Thread: Help finding Hair to match this image | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The MDN Hair Bundle has one that looks spot on except that the bangs fall on the opposite side but Content Mirror by Dimension 3D allows you to mirror props and figures. I would definitely recommend it as you'll be able to get more use out of your content.Â
I'm also going to buy these two as well.
Thanks for the recomendation :o)

There is nothing different applying a MATPose in PP2014. Â Just make certain that the hair is selected and parented to the figure first. Â According to the readme, this hair piece is a prop, not a figure as other hair content.
That was it. I just needed to parent the prop. Thanks for your help hborre.

Hi guys
Thanks for your help with this. I do think I may have been a little premature starting the thread in hindsight.
I have found some hair that seems to fit the bill, bought it and installed it as shown below:
However, when I click on the material pose that is found in the pose library it doesn't apply to the hair.
Is this something to do with PP2014 being different in some way?

Can you give us an example? Â That might help. ;)
Hehe, I realised as soon as I pressed the post button but wasn't quick enough editing it LOL. Now I seem to have given you two pics.
Too many pear ciders I think :)

Thread: Octane Render | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Also note that you need a Octane Standalone license before you can use any plugins. So if you want a Poser plugin you need two licenses. One for Octane Standalone and one for the plugin which is about 450 euro all together depending on the plugin you want. And then you properly also want to upgrade to faster graphics cards. So it can be a costly investment.
Indeed, I just got an email back from the Octane Developers saying: "The currently released version of OctaneRender (v 2.x) only supports NVIDIA GPU's with Compute Capability 2.0 and above.
We recently announced the next version (v 3.x), currently in development. This version will have OpenCL support, and will be compatible with AMD GPU's.
However, this version has no release date currently set."
Yours sincerely,
The OctaneRender Team"
Based on this I think I am going to wait and see what happens.
I have however decide to press ahead and by this after a quick play of the version 3 Beta when it becomes available.
Thanks for help guys.

I do think so, I use the plugin version and I can do all my lighting and materials interactively. With my gear (dual nVidia 770) it's say 100x faster than Poser firefly (on 12 thread 4GHz CPU) - which is a life-saver for animation - while Poser does have some fundamental (un-resolvable) flaws when it comes close to realism.
But do note that one usually wants more / faster video cards on top of the SW costs, and it does take time to learn the tricks of a new trade.
Artists like RGUS publish about daily in the Rendo gallery, you can ask them as well (as most don't frequent the Rendo forum).Â
100x faster, wow. That's great feedback aRtBee.
Thank you.

Try the demos first and then decide.
Indeed that would make sense I agree. However, I have an AMD card and it appears as though I will need to sell in order to buy a compatible Nvidia card.
I have only had the 7990 GPU 6 months so this will represent a significant Loss on my current card when I sell it second hand.
Additionally, I will have to pay to get comparable NVidia card plus the license and software.
This will be a significant investment for me if I am to start using Octane, hence my original post.
I heard somewhere that Octane will soon be compatible with AMD cards and have contacted them to confirm.
This will of course reduce my set up costs if true.
In the meantime I just wanted to know if any of you thought it had changed your life since buying it as regards realism and render times.

3feetwolf has some over at R'otica. Much cheaper than a Pro Bundle. They work in Poser...
Thanks guys for the advise. I went for this one in the end that seem to work fine from what I can tell.
Just the jobby :)

Thread: EZSkin2 losing presets | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi guys
Just to finish this thread off in case anyone else has similiar problems it appears this issue was caused by my having EZMat installed previously then not uninstalling it properly.
Snarly has just been helping me via email and explained the following:
"EZMat and EZSKin are not supposed to be used together as they share the same config files, so EZMat is locking the files preventing EZSkin from writing to them"
I have now re-installed Build 124 of EZmat and am using EZskin via that utility which appears to be working fine now.
Many thanks to you guys for steering me in the right direction and even bigger thanks to Snarly for giving up his free time to help me.

Thread: Importing Poser character into daz studio | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi Wandw thanks for that.
I am actually using Reality 4 and have the update but that is working perfectly.
I've just put this down to me having messed up the cr2 somehow for my figure when I was playing around with materials in reality 4 using the aforementioned figure.
I'm just going to make a new figure and start again I think.;
thanks all.
