Any word on who is stepping in to take over development of the project? I feel like Evolution is one of the most complete and 'ready for prime time' figures released to date and yet very little support has show up for it yet. I feel like a public game plan going forward might be needed if any significant adoption is going to occur. Not saying all the details need to be out there but it would be great to have some sort of specifics.
I've had a bit of money set aside to purchase products for E, but since launch I have only seen a small (but nice) collection of dynamics come out and that's a bit of a red flag with ongoing development being a rather large question mark right now. A more concrete gameplan may shore up concerns as to whether the figure is wise to continue to invest in

Wow... just wow... this thread is exhibit A of why myself and many others have stepped out of this community.
Nobody can really win can they...
Release a figure open source and for free with latest tech....people bitch... no support..
Re-Do a popular figure from scratch AND provide clothing transfer ... people bitch ... no support
several figures get released for modest fees... still more bitching and no support.
Release the most complete and up to date figure yet, chok full of morphs and skins for around the same price as a good clothing set or morph texture pack for other figures (with morphs and textures that rival those add on sets)... guess what.. still more bitching and no support...
seriously, the forums all need to have an automatic reply feature where if anyone posts any complaint or concern about lack of content it automatically posts a reply saying "GO F---- YOURSELF! We, as a community, don't want new content!! we just want to bitch everything and everybody into the ground! Now STFU and go render more V4 crap!"
Good luck all!
Thread: Dress Rip? How? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I would think yes by use of a transparency map. You would have to draw the part you want to be transparent onto the texture template. You may be able to find some photoshop layers that could be used if you dont feel comfortable drawing a convincing ripped edge yourself.

yes the amount of morphs out of the box is amazing, though possibly a bit overwhelming at the same time. A lot of them I had look up what they were, especially in the limbs.

now for the critical question.. can anyone get a satisfactory render of her with arms raised? When anastasia/shae came out I wanted to love the figure so so much.. but I just have not been able to get past the arms raised and the hideous deformation it make in her lat area. Thoughts?

Even if you missed the free time I'd still consider picking her up. Makes her into a very usable figure. Would love to have seen this be the base. Take scotts rigging improvements and Ero's paula shape and you have the way this figure should have been released!

what the poser market seems to need right now is an unprecedented level of focused support for a (one) non daz figure/figure family. The hivewire ones have come a long way and seem to be viable at this point BUT they do have that hard-coded 'G' rating attached to them that is a bit of a sticking point for people wanting to make art in a 'grown ups' environment. I didn't say adult in this instance because it immediately brings to mind poser porn and that's not what I'm talking about. Just the treatment of poser subject matter as mature adults who are capable of witnessing and appreciating the full human form. Aritistic freedom not artificially limited by the design decisions of the figure with which we work. I'm very optimistic about project E, but I have been before and been disappointed by the support offered. I think at this point the key value content creators could add is more in supporting some of the better of whats available than adding further under supported figures to the ring.
That being said I do love the idea of different models of bringing content to market. Some sort of content creation collaborative could tap some of the best skills different people have to offer and get more content to market quicker in support of any particular figure. Some people can model, some can rig and some can texture to a pretty high level but far fewer can do all three at the same level. It would be cool if there was a structure to help tap different skillsets to bring content to market and reward each equitably for their contribution

Okay there is one last thing I'd like to have that I have not yet been able to find. A addon/morph for M4 to give him the Nautolan tentacles.
I did something with the lekku figure from 'Northwatcher' (i thinik, that is what the content folder was labled) it was a long time ago. they come as a single lekku or double. if you use multiple singles parented, not conformed, to the head you can approximate that look. You need to do some morphing of the skull to bring the shape down into the face and in order to get a decent look you have to find a way to solve the join where the tentacles dissappear into the head geometry. texture matching is a bitch if you want to do closeups. The lekku themselves are a bit blocky as they dont have a ton of bones but in recent versions of poser I would think SubD could make them look quite nice. Aside from the blockiness I actually like these better than some of the more recent attempts at lekku. Sorry, no idea where they are available from

Am I imagining it or do the Poser 2014 firefly promos look better than either the superfly or iray promos?

Hey BB, what figure and skin are you using for that render? It seems to have a very good bump map!
I must definitely try that shader out, thank you. :)
The figure is James, found as a Poser legacy figure.
Gosh I'd like to see this figure re-rigged and tidied up to current tech. He really is a beauty until you try to pose the poor bugger
Thread: Trying to get new Antonia Free site running: | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Sorry to hear about your health issues, I also have nothing useful to say about any web thingamajigs.. I am a huge fan of Antonia though so thank you for continuing to support!! I keep hoping somebody will make use of Posers subdivision and HD morphs in the latest version to do some cool morph packs for her. I have Afrodite-Ohki's advanced morphs but it would be cool to see how detailed they could have been done using the new features!

I absolutely love silo 2.2. It has its quirks but I find the whole experience very intuitive. Though I'd maybe find something else to layout UVs in. While I can get good UV maps out of Silo, there is about a 30% chance that something I do in the process will make all my maps dissappear... havent figured out what it is yet :/

yeah I challenge any assertion of it being a victim less crime to pirate content especially. I know of a few talented people who made great stuff only to release it for a reasonable price, find it immediately pirated and get discouraged and withdraw from releasing things into the market. In this case we are all victims as the pool of content available has been diminished for us all.
On the flip side piracy can to a certain extent grow the market.
Back around the time that poser 7 was coming out (honestly have no idea when that was.. years ago) I was talking to an online friend from a gaming community and complimenting him profusely about his character art... where did it come from..what?! you made that? how?.. etc etc. Long story short he sent me a big file containing poser 6 and a large, really poorly sorted, runtime of content. I'd never really been interested in downloading movies or music, and my software needs were limited to games which i bought and the included software on my system so the concept of pirating was not really on my radar. But that's how I got started in this none-the-less. Due to that act of sharing SM has gotten a full purchase of poser 8 and an upgrade to pro for each subsequent release. Additionally I've picked up a large number of content items through the years. Now in todays world if that situation was to repeat without illegal sharing, I'd have gotten a dowload link to Free DAZ studio and the free Gen2 or 3 bases. With that content I may or may not have been intrigued enough to carry on, but its very likely poser and poser centered content would not get much if any of my money.
As much as I see the morality of Piracy to be pretty black and white, I'm not sure the totality of the situation is as simple as we would like

While I agree that her bends aren't as good as I had wanted... this is a bit of a pet peeve of mine.. I think there should be some sort of requirement for people to post pictures of themselves assuming a pose before they hack down a rig for not being able to.
Not trying to be a bitch guys.. but nobody bends this way.. not in the thigh and not in the shin. And not a single one of you guys taking shots here doesn't know it full well, bad form guys.
The figure has enough well deserved shots against it that you don't need to fabricate or exaggerate issues to tear it down.
Edit: OK with effort I can get my shin to bend that far.. sort of.. her proportions seem off, i feel like the heel should land towards the base of the buttocks, but hers is way up near the top of the buttock. still the thigh bend is completely unfair
