I have sent a ticket but thought I'd try here as well.

I cant open Poserpro11 as the SN no longer works as per the above messages.

I have been sent the 11.2 download link but I cant open Poserpro11 to get my SN.

Has anyone else resolved this as there is no longer an account on Smithmicro to retrieve this info.

Why you think I make my own stuff? I'm a tight bastard too! The only difference is I took all that money that might have been spent on Genesis stuff and bought art software instead. 3d tools, texturing tools, rendering tools, etc...

I did some modeling classes with Maya but my talent is average at best in that field.

So I look out for people with talent like any good CGI vulture;)

mouser - Yeah no, I totally get where you're coming from. But it's not a Gen figure, cause I make my own. I understand that a lot of people only want to daz, only want to use Genesis, but that's also why I'm posting in the Poser - OFFICAL Forum, to ask people who are using poser and poser figures if they are interested in something like this. I also understand people will convert from Daz to Poser, but others will not bother.

As for Genesis 8, its not the best but its costs vs balance thing mostly its all the legacy content I've purchased over the years.

It looks like you have plenty of customers looking anyway;)

No, it's not a Genesis 2345678 figure, I make figures. I don't know what a RSSY converter is. Clothing can always be converted if you take time to do it. The point is there are other things in this world than daz figures. But thank you for the point of view. It's what I'm looking for. Is it worth making new characters for people to play with? Or is Genesis the only thing that matters in the marketplace anymore? I'm not being sassy, I really want to know

Understood Just to clarify where I'm coming from the RSSY DS plugin allowed me to automate and convert almost all Daz3d Millenium & genesis figures to fit to Genesis 8 except for Millenium 3 or earlier (so far).

This means over 90% of the content I have purchased over the years is usable, its a big deal for users who have spent $ over the years.

I dont want to spend time converting stuff just for one lone figure when I can automate the process for the figure I have.

Just something to keep in mind.

Dont get me wrong she is a damn fine figure but I have only so much cash I can spend and compatability is a factor.

Being able to default to the one generation of base figures makes things very convenient and cost effective.

I was afraid of this, looks like i'll have to (yuck) work.

On average each figure has parented Hair, a shirt, pants or a skirt and shoes.

Thats at least 80% of the keyframe window just cluttered unecessarily.

You would think it would be self evident to the developers.

I still find myself opening Wings3D to start my poly modeling until I get the basics where I want and then port it to whatever advanced package I want (Blender, Maya, Lightwave or whatever).

Wings3d, Zbrush and others are dedicated to specific 3d fields in this case modeling so it does that one thing excelently.

Blender has the same issue as many other big packages, it is trying to do everything in the one package, It does many things well but not exactly great as a result. Also these large packages are trying to do so many things they crash at the most inopertune moment (just before saving) and often (hint: dont breath while using Maya).

The questionis do you want a one stop solution? If yes then you are gonna have to deal with an interface that is a compromise at best.

If you want an interface that is intuitive then you'll need multiple packages & have to learn em all.

Answer: its a pain either way;)

Autodesk went stupid with their price for Maya, so I dropped it for Blender, Wings3D & Daz Studio.

Adobe went mental with their subscription price so I dropped it for Davinci Resolve free (one of many free options).

Now Vue & CityBuilder wont even let me activate the software I purchased, hmmm

You know its not necassarily the subscription or the price its that there is not much ongoing value that ticks me off.

It also means learning all over again but I will find an alternative that supplies value.

Man I am glad I stopped at version 10, it was fun while it lasted but all good things come to an end.

No real new features but a rental service for what we used to own, hmmm.

No its time to admit to myself that what is being offered is increased ongoing cost for the same old thing.
