If you want to see the process physical ram + page file usage in WinXP task manager, try View->Select Columns->Virtual Memory Size.

I did some testing and found the cause to be Anti-virus software.

The few AV I tried all evoke the temp file generation in Poser8, including Windows Defender which comes with win7/vista.

One can exclude the Temporary Internet Files folder from real-time protection as an interim solution, but it is a fairly severe security compromise.

One thing to note is that explorer will not show these generated xml files in the Temporary Internet Files folder even if you check all the options(hidden and protected).

You will have to use a third-party tool like ccleaner or navigate to the real folder(Content.IE5) by typing the path.

There is no need to wipe the VM and reinstall its OS. Current VM software have a feature called snapshot that saves the state the virtual system, so you can revert to a clean system and trial for another 30 days anytime.

Looks like Win Poser 8's search relies on Windows Search 4.
By default, Window Search 4 only indexes the user's folder plus a few other common shared folders.
Try going to Control Panel->Indexing Options and add all your runtime folders to the locations to be indexed.

The limitation in Daz Studio's 3delight renderer license is just the lack of network rendering. If you have a multi-processor system like Xeon or the new Mac Pro, daz studio(provided the OS also supports it) can make use of both processors and all cores.

Yes you just need to double-click and install.
It will take quite sometime though and you will need to reboot at the end.

No. Poser( and poser pro)  is limited to 4 threads and thus render the scenes in 4 parts.
In addition, a thread goes to sleep when it finishes its part, making the multi-threading gain even lower.
