Thread: Why are you still using V4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
But, for those of us who bothered to learn the new features of Poser, to see what Poser is actually capable of, Roxie is perfection.
By 'perfection' do you mean a cute face? Her rigging isn't coping too well with that pose, as evidenced by the strange armpit fold and the bumps above her left elbow.
Thread: Poser Forum on facebook … Competition! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
@Tetsu Tora - You may be in for a rude shock then as any picture in the galleries has the Facebook "Like" and "Share" links automatically added. There is a thread in the Community Center forum started by auntietk back in July 2014, yes you read correctly - 12 months ago, where Rendo promised that the Facebook links would be an option that the uploading artist would be able to select or deselect. To date this has not been done. The typical responses to any request for updates are; "its on the list", "its with the programmers", "its out of our hands", "I promise this hasn't been forgotten", etc or the request is just ignored.

Wouldn't this be a place to limit this?
With that box UNchecked, the FB Like and Share buttons are still there and still active below the image.
Thread: Should Vendors be forced to diversify? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I suppose brokerages could offer incentives to content creators to make stuff other than more-of-the-same-V4-slutwear. They could offer a higher percentage split to vendors who make stuff for an under-supported figure or an under-supported genre, like, say, realistic men's everyday clothing, or clothing for SM figures. But I don't think the brokerages care too much one way or the other, as long as anything is selling they are scoring.
Thread: overwhelmed G1,2, now 3. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Are the two of you (obm890 and Zev0) just baiting to make SURE it happens or what?
Not me, I was somewhat naively hoping to preempt a replay of that rather tiresome little power game. I enjoy these debate threads and it annoys me to see them locked or deleted because of one or two people. Without those threads we're back to one "what hair prop is this?" per day.

... an overwhelming choice fest of characters and product lines.
We are indeed spoiled for choice, it's certainly a great time to be a 3D artist.

Good luck with this thread. A certain person will single-handedly turn this discussion into a fight and then play innocent peace-keeper, demanding that it be moved to the DAZ forum, like the last V7 thread. I'll bet that person is already typing up his/her "Look, Look! I'm being attacked, POSER is being attacked" posts now, ready to paste them in as soon as conditions are suitable.
Thread: I've been told photo-realism is everything | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"Conspiracy"? Really? How is anyone pressuring you to do anything? The tools for making images are getting better, that's all. One of the benefits of that progress is that realistic scenes, characters, lighting etc are more easily achieved now than ever before. But why should that stop you doing toon or fantasy stuff if you like toon or fantasy stuff? Why should that stop you postworking you images if you want to or using non-photoreal lighting or shaders or effects?
V3 had funny shoulders. V4 had better shoulders but funny armpits and toes. V4 weightmaped has better shoulders and armpits but ugly roundy elbows. V4 "Perfect" (the morph set) has better armpits and toes and nice pointy elbows. From what I can tell, Genesis3/V7 has even better shoulders, armpits and toes without the need for fixes. Use whichever you want in your images, if you like the way a figure looks, use it, where's the pressure or the conspiracy?
Thread: Genesis 3 in Poser (really!) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
After some very encouraging initial tests, I'm thinking I might just be able to use her directly in MODO801. Cooking with gas... or dual quaternions or something. Gotta love them industry standards...
Thread: ISO triangle bandage arm sling | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There ya go! Well done, now you have a sling AND some more modelling experience under your belt, priceless. That experience will go directly into your next project, and the next, and pretty soon you'll have dozens, perhaps even hundreds, of unfinished models on you hard drive, just like the rest of us. It's a curse, I tell you, this modelling thing.

Unfortunately I don't have M3. It'll need to fit quite well to look believable - it needs to pull tight around the neck and under the arm so it looks like it is taking the weight of the arm, and the tension creases need to be long and straight or they'll look fake. I think you'd have quite a job morphing it from one figure to another with the morph brush, probably easier to make it directly on your posed figure in wings or something.
Make the bit around the back of the neck, make the bit under the arm, bridge between them to make the front panel, copy the top of that to make the part against the chest, tweak a bit, done.

I could probably make one for you if it's for a figure I own. It would be a simple static prop suitable for one pose, I don't have time to get involved in option morphs and so on.
Thread: Victoria 7 | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Content Advisory! This message contains profanity
What a sad bunch of sniveling whiners you all are!
Believe it or not, DAZ doesn't owe you full backwards compatibility of all new products forever. You bitch because there's no new V4 killer on the horizon, then you bitch some more if a possible contender appears because it means you'll have to buy better stuff to go with a better figure. DAZ is apparently trying to raise the quality of 3D figures and of 3D figure artwork as a whole. Going by the quality of most promo images in their store these days, I would say they are succeeding. Poser's development has scarcely budged in decades, but you bitch that it's DAZ's fault that many of the best vendors appear to be jumping ship in their direction, and somehow this makes them the evil enemy because they are leaving you behind stuck in, what, 2005 with V4?
I think V7 looks amazing in those promo renders, she has the prettiest face I've ever seen on a stock figure and she seems to morph into quite believable expressions. I wish her a long and happy life, but if V8 improves on her one day, that's ok too.
Thread: wings blender or any 3D app question about tweaking ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
In Wings the soft selection is called Magnet and you can adjust the radius on the fly, hold Alt and drag with the mouse to resize the purple circle of influence. I think wings Tweak is a sort of screen-axis drag. Very flexible.
