Thread: Finally getting serious about move from C4D to Blender! | Forum: Blender
What's the shortcut for the pie menu, I want to turn viewport cycles rendering on and off? (Blender 2.92.0)

Thread: Opinions-feedback on video cards for D|S - need to replace mine soon! | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I have a GPU that's become available:
A 750 ti that's been running continuosly for around 6 years (with a 5% overclock).
...driving a 4K TV.
...running a few games at 4K 3fps
...only a few thousand hours of Iray renders and running the Iray preview.
Guaranteed 'Iray compatible', (if you don't upgrade Studio.)
Good for mining, add a wooden handle and you can use it as a spade.
I'll reluctantly let this wonderful, 'old reliable', 4Gb card go for ONLY £3647
(Shipping extra)
(Wooden handle not supplied)

Thread: Free version of Poser a benefit to vendors? | Forum: Poser 12
Are we sure Smith Micro did not pay Bondware to take Poser off their hands?!!! LOL

Thread: Poser Debut | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't think there is a current version of debut, only Pro these days.
My old debut stopped working last month with the end of Flash. None of the fixes for other versions of Poser worked for Debut!

Thread: The death of DSON...an update | Forum: Poser 12
parkdalegardener posted at 6:14AM Sat, 02 January 2021 - #4409179
I read the original post as Bondware telling DAZ that Studio is dead unless DAZ updates DSON to work with their own software.
LOL. Reads, to me, like Bondware did not just 'express an interest' in an update but actually in doing the 'updating'?

Thread: The unmentioned death of DSON importation... | Forum: Poser 12
I was hoping that FBX development (both importing and exporting) would have been much further along than it is.
My workflow in and out of Cinema is almost entirely FBX based. It makes much more sense to export a single FBX file; and try and get that same file into Poser or Studio.
p.s. I think DSON is just the name of the current Studio format. It's not a sign of failure that third party programs do not create an importer from that published file-format! for example there are few programs with a Cinema 4D importer.

Thread: Genesis8Female as FBX import is posable in Poser Pro 11 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What is causing those 'bent straw' arms, isn't it a weight-mapping problem not a JCM problem?

I think ssgbryan is talking about reducing the bloated figures within Cinema (Max, Maya etc.).
The large file size is just a consequence of the default way Cinema stores morphs but it's relative easy to clean out all the extra copies of the mesh and just store the morph deltas. You can get your 6GB file back down to 600MB!

Thread: Differences in HDRI Tiers | Forum: DAZ|Studio
A higher resolution HDR allows it to keep it's detail and sharpness in close ups and reflections. It shouldn't have any effect on quality of lighting.
You may be noticing a loss of dynamic range if they did the various re-sizings incorrectly and, of course, not all HDR files are created equal . You can use your image software or a free utility like 'Bracket' to check the stats. of the HDR.

Thread: DAZ to fbx issues | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Something that's worked for me, with the 'wandering hair' problem, is changing the parenting of hair within Studio. I have not used SFM but this solved wandering hair in the Octane plugin.
...but I suspect that the problem is really in how it is being 'imported'. There's not much you can do about that from the Studio end.

Thread: DAZ to fbx issues | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Have you tried one of the new bridges for DAZ Studio?
There isn't one for SFM, but the bridges are really just FBX exporters and you can find that exported FBX file and textures in a folder called called c:TEMP3D
I mention it because it applies some of the FBX fixes that I would usually have to do in Cinema4D after an ordinary FBX export. It's a longshot but may help with one of the problems you're having.

Thread: Just bought Poser Debut. Flash won´t let me use libraries... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What version of Debut do you have? Smith Micro issued a free update years ago, (Which may have been the Adobe Air issue) from the original v8 to v10.0.5.28925
I don't get any error messages about flash.

I use Syncback Free. With 3 external drives, one is done every 6 months, one every 3 months and one daily.
