Thread: Vendor Control Room - Dead Links and 404 Errors | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Attached Link: Error page link to copyright URL
OH MY GOD ... I think I have figured it out!!!I just clicked on a link and it took me to a completely different Renderosity main page!
My menu which normally is on the right suddenly was on the left. There is NO VENDOR CONTROL ROOM option at all...
there are in fact 2 Completely different Renderosities!!!!Â
http://www.Renderosity.com/ ... etcetera...
and
http://camelot.renderosity.com/... etcetera...
Took me a bit to figure that out. I think there actually is a third one;
http://avalon2.renderosity.com/ ... etcetera...
each one has a different version of Bondware running, using the same or similar databases, but they have different layouts options and links.
hence if you mouse over some of the options there will be a subdomain name instead of a www at the beginning.
I will email you screen snapshots with the address links in my Firefox to prove this to you.
I just knew that my straightjacket wouldn't fit just yet !!!

Antonio

Clint,
are you looking at a completely different Renderosity than I am?
I walked you thru to exactly where the links were that I mentioned above, twice. And they work for you?
Try using Mozilla FIREFOX the most recent version, and it will time out on any site link with either a subdomain of avalon2 or camelot on them, and a number of pages will give a page not found error. I am not going out of my mind. I will ask some others to look at these same pages and tell me I am seeing things.

Hi ClintH,
Pretty simple... click on the Vendor Control Room option on the menu. If you are NOT a vendor, then you get the form to fill in with your real name, address, paypal info etc. On this same page are links which are repeated all over Renderosity -- including at the top of this forum. Places where you can look at the policies and how to prepare products for sale etc. These are hotlinks on the webpages themselves. The majority of the hotlinks (href="somewebpage") link to a page that was from the OLD version of Bondware, using index.ez and other stuff .ez which no longer exist. This takes me or anyone who wants to know more, to a lovely page not found on server, 404 error or this page is taking too long (since its on a server with the subdomain name avalon2.renderosity.com etc...)
I clicked on other pages including the Copyright information pages, and the same issue came up there. Apparently tons of hotlinks on various pages are coded in and have never been updated with the software changes.
I write tons of HTML code myself and know that these are tedious changes, however, in the largest Poser product store on the web that I know of, its embarrassing that a new vendor should ever get a 404 error on any helpful link that you place there in the registration pages. And that its been this way for over 6 months (since I recall the changes to Bondware and the store was roughly 6 months ago) this should have been changed at that time, not now. I cannot be the first person to have hit these pages like this and got a myriad of 404 errors.Â
If you want me to go thru the site and list every bad link, I could do that... But I think your software pages could be globally searched for every reference to a site link starting with:
http://camelot.renderosity.com/index.ez?viewLink=328
which has a link marked: http://www.renderosity.com/index.ez?viewLink=328
which immediately gives you a bad page.
Above I stated some other links which are all over Renderosity - some in product pages etc. The link is consistenly the same one, linking to a page that doesn't exist - globally.
Just trying to help and make the site better.

just an additional thing:
MarketPlace Product Installation Guide (Poser Based Products)
This is one of the most visible links on the site, and its a dead link....
in the copyright forum and policy section the same thing happens for:
Renderosity Copyright FAQ in the copyright pages.
Just trying to figure out what I am able to do, and how to become a vendor.

Thread: Guess the person please | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
My initial reaction to the first morph was David Schwimmer from Friends.
You need non smiling photos to really work on a good likeness, the smile poses ruin the main face, and you cannot use a smile photo because the muscles are pulled in a different way from the base figures.Â
The best figure for face morphing I have found to be David (D3) from DAZ.

Thread: Want to make scenes from Phantom of the Opera 2004 movie, please help | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Attached Link: Venice Face Masks and Carnival Masks
I think the poser world just couldn't figure out where to put the naked vicky in the scene without the temple and sword? unless you built a set in the middle of the opera house and painted a temple backdrop? I think your idea is brilliant, and there's no issue with making a cool operatic setting with figures in it that have brilliant costumes and look somewhat like the Victor Hugo characters, since the Victor Hugo story is like 100 years old and he's been dead a while, I think the original story is in the public domain. Remember that alot of these stories are not owned by film companies nor by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Just their renditions of them. But not the original characters from Phantom. That belonged to Victor Hugo and is in the public domain. However, if you use the mask from the Broadway play or the one from the film, that might have some copyright issues with it. However, if you like, you can go to some really cool websites in Venice, Italy (look up Carnivale, Masks or Costumes) and you will find some BRILLIANT masks you could have someone model for you in 3D without infringing copyrights. And you could actually ask JPeter to help you with a face morph, he might actually consider doing it if you put a nice Paypal transfer in there (he does brilliant work) or if you give him the idea to make a specific package, he might do it. Never know until you've tried. Greetings, Antonio MalePoserotica, PoserGuys PS: Attached the link to my favorite mask maker in Venice.Greetings from Germany

Thread: The FaceGen question: Pro and Con | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I thought FaceGen had a purchaseable addon that integrated it with Poser 4 or 5.. I read that somewhere. Sadly the mesh doesn't fit Poser's heads, however, I am not sure it won't work on the older poser 4 guys. Never tried that. And ummm for FACES and Celeb Morphs please don't forget the master face morpher for celeb-males - JPeter and his 7 movie men packs. Some of his faces are DEAD-ON. I usually use FaceGen as a starting point and then make the heads in a front and side view then paste the heads onto single sided planes, scale them in my poser workspace so the images are the same height, and then put a D3 figure there next to them, line them up with the head and begin building the head as a morph in poser. Using dials first to get close then using magnets when needed, then spawning morph targets, and creating dials till I have the face I want and can turn it to 1 or 0 in the dial. Then when finished I can create an INJ/REM for the new face. I was very successful with this method. if you have a good eye, you can pretty much morph the face you made in FaceGen in short time in Poser itself. Greetings, Antonio

Thread: Seeking advice on Apollo Maximus | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Anton's figure is fabulous, he was the only one who listened to me when I begged for toes that could curl around a diving board! You can curl EVERY one of Apollo's toes individually! M3 can bend them as groups only, and David doesn't have any morphs for that. Hiro either. The DAZ figures are all different although they claim to be Millenium mesh, they are not compatible with each other. And, well with problems having figures with "naughty bits" attached that issue will continually plague the market, although we here in Europe don't understand what all the screaming is about. I am still waiting for the figures to have an unclosed butt, and one that allows us to spread the cheeks with a dial. Apollo according to Anton has an anus, but he wasn't allowed to release the figure with anus morphs, nor was he allowed to let the figure have anything bigger than a babypenis. Odd isn't it? But monsterboobs are allowed. Go figure? But until then postwork and magnets will have to do. Lets keep dreaming for a "fully" anatomically correct figure. Maybe in 2025 we'll see one. Thread: Looking for a high quality M3 texture | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You have to remember one thing, if you want hi-res and hi-quality textures, you cannot render in P4 mode nor can you render using the default low-settings in Firefly. If you use the Poser default settings in firefly, you won't get the high-quality you want from any texture. Granted there are alot of poor textures out there, what you need to note is the size of the textures themselves. If they are only for example 1000px high or wide, then they won't be hi-res. If the images themselves are blurred or not clear, then the texture won't look good. There are many types of textures too. There was once a flame-war between UweMattern and Jepe over what was better, a painted texture or a photo-realistic one. I think both are fine, it depends on what you are looking for. Some people like textures made from photos, some like hand-painted ones. You can see alot of the textures being used on my site Maleposerotica in the galleries and can happily talk to users who use textures where all of the texture can be seen, this from both women and men artists. If you are going to buy a texture, the best thing to decide is can your PC handle rendering at full render quality in Firefly, and can you wait that long for the render to be finished. You don't need to have face_off's tools but why not? They are quite incredible I think as an enhancement to your artwork. Just my thoughts on this issue. Dirk5027 -- read my personal profile, then you will find out where my images come from. I license images to several adult-themed sites around the world, and have been a male-model-photographer for over 20 years. Its a question of what magazines do you read? If you have seen my work before. Smile. Greetings from Germany, Antonio

ahhhh cool, thanks so much for doing the research! sweet of you! So the Anders Hair (from DAZ, or direct from Polymage) does this then. I will have to try that. The models I have I would like to reproduce in pose sets, and it would be very cool to have David look like my models. Thats part of the fun of this. Antonio
