Thread: I need to ask all OS X Vue users a question. | Forum: Vue
Yea, changing Vue.env solves my problems every time so far. (Goes and finds a tree to bang on.) I'm probably over-reacting, but it works. And I've PARTICULARLY noticed that problems happen MOST OFTEN in the material editor when you get three or more screens deep. (Such as opening the ME, opening Bumps, opening something else.) The material editor seems the most crash prone aspect of Vue on Mac, but anytime vue crashes, for whatever reason, I always replace vue.env. Michael

Okay, this is easy to fix, but I'm not at my computer right now so I may not remember what all is involved... But try this: When you have one of these lock ups, which tend to happen with high polygon counts, here is what I've found to be the problem. A corrupt vue.env file. Here's where you clued me in... When you restart after a crash your default screen is missing and you are forced to load or new from the menu... only the atmosphere's and personal scenes are all missing. This happens AFTER a crash, or perhaps an aborted render. vue.env is a HEAVILY written to file. If something goes wrong while writting to it, Vue fails. Once corrupt, Vue will no longer work. Look at it this way... the vue.env file is sort of like the preference files under Mac OS 7.x-9.x, and by replacing it your get a fresh new Vue without the reinstall. I believe this is a Jag issue, as I didn't have this problem at all under 10.1. To repair, after a crash simply pull vue.env off the original CD and replace the corrupt one in your Application folder. I took a clean copy of vue.env and put it on my hard drive. I then copy a fresh vue.env into the Vue folder (I can't remember exactly WHERE in the vue folder it is) any time I start a new project. I haven't had a crash since.

It has gone to court, and the writing was so clear on the wall, that the studio settled out of court. Warner Brothers got into a major bit of trouble when they used Ex Nihlo in The Devil's Advocate.
Thread: Crazy Bryce5/Vue4 Cross-Upgrade! | Forum: Bryce
Why would a Vue buy Bryce? There is nothing in the code of Bryce that could entice Vue to purchase it. The two products are in active competition. Instead, Vue is starting to market itself to Bryce, since Bryce is an abandonded platform. If they can convert a certain number of Brycians to Vuegarians, then they come out ahead, whatever the final disposition is for Bryce. And Vue will be tempting to a large segment of brycian society. A well supported and relatively bug free program is going to be more attractive than an abandonded program. Others will head for another package, either up or down, leaving terrain editors for 3d packages or whatever. Still others will abandon the entire 3d software world. Finally, there are those "Cold, dead finger" brycians, who will suffer setback and abandonment with bitter resentment, but never look outside the world of Bryce for something new. The thing is, Vue, E-On, Mojo or whatever isn't going to LET Bryce die. Corel killed bryce. Period. Bryce is dead. Not that resurection isn't possible, but the reality is the plug has been pulled and the code is in the morgue.

Thread: More on copyright abuse of Poser pictures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As one recently plagerized, not for artwork but for a journalistic article I wrote a few years ago, let me assure you that the little guy can get very very hurt. For almost no money, I closed down the paper that committed the act of plagerism. Copyright is serious business if you're willing to push it.

Also, but some people on the bridge, both above with the tanks, and below on the foot bridge. Wherever there are tanks there are people. And those .50 calibers on the top of the tanks would be mained, and probably aimed up at those planes. Some tracer fire might be nice, and mostly ineffectual against the heavily armored A-10. Not to be picky, but the A-10 is called the warthog cause it stays in the bushes. The attack looks a bit high for a typical A-10 attack. Perhaps lower the wingman. But all in all, it's great image. My things are picky.

Not in order: James Bond, any but Never Say Never and A View to a Kill. The Prophecy, but not II or III. The Rocket Gibralter Harry Potter And the Philospher's Stone And Chamber of Secrets (Have serious reservations about Prisoner when I found out that Wood wouldn't be back.) Kevin Smith's 5 part Trilogy, and yes I include Mall Rats in that.

They weren't borrowed, they were actively co-opted into the religious celebration. Pagans under christian control were going to celebrate yule, so the church made it a "christian" holiday. Pagans under christian control were going to celebrate the spring equinox... Easter. It's no different than neo-pagans and wiccan's co-opting the old way for their new religions. More power to'em I say.

Isstrout, I'm VERY aware of the mayan, aztec, hopi, zuni, and other ruins found throught the America's. They are very awe inspiring and very much a part of my personal heritige, and in no way meant to belittle them. However, in the case of Endingburg or Paris or Canterbury... or hundreds of other European cities, these aren't ruins, they are living, breathing, vibrant buildings that are hundreds or thousands of years old. I've heard, but have not yet seen, that parts of Mexico City are like that. Where ancient native american structures are part and parcel of the cityscape. The ruins I've seen have been amazing, no doubt, but the co-existance of antiquity and modern day in parts of Europe is simply unparalleled. Tresamie, I've seen photographs of Neuschwanstein, and it is something to see! I hope to visit in in person someday soon.
