Thanks much, B. I'll give it a go and see what happens.

Quote - Although I've been repeatedly warned on the DAZ forum that what I do won't work,
The only reliable way I've found of getting poser poses to work is to turn off contraints, then checking "Leave limits on" in the warning box that comes up.
Downside is that IK won't work, and body parts will be able to be moved in XYZ translations (with really weird results). However XYZ translation is immediately obvious and easily corrected with "Undo".
By doing this I don't get distorted joints and lockups. All you have to remember is to only rotate the body parts and not to move them up and down, back and forth, or in and out.
Thread: DS3A HandGrip Installation ERROR??? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Quote - I don't think so - the installer is an application that requires you to go through the EULA screen, so it can't be by-passed like a self-extracting zip file. If anyone knows where the Mac stored the application path you could check that that was entered correctly (content doesn't need it, that's why I was asking about other plugins or shaders) and possibly correct it if not.
Thanks again Richard. I guess I'll just start over from scratch and dump everything.
Thread: DS3A HandGrip Installation ERROR??? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Quote - As I asked in reply to your post at DAZ, did any other plugins install correctly? Or shaders? By which I mean those with their own installers, not those included with DS. If not, or if you can't test, it may well be that the application path was not correctly written when DS was installed - it goes in a .ini file on Windows but I'm not sure where a Mac stores it. Reinstalling DS might help if that's the case; however, if other things did install correctly that shouldn't be the problem.
Thanks again Richard. I tried reinstalling DS3A and NOTHING, NADA! I have'nt had a problem with any other installers since I started using DS3A. I wonder if I can just empty the contents of the installer into a folder on the desktop and just move it to the plug-ins folder.
Thread: DS3A HandGrip Installation ERROR??? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Quote - I have Handgrip and my installation was with no problems when i had my G5 mac.with Tiger and then i recently changed to a Mac Pro with Snow Leopard and it was with no problems.
I read your message. And iknow what your problem is.. The D AZ installer creates a default path.. and that path might not exist in your mac. So i usually just change the path and install it on my desktop. Then i can move the files to whatever folder it needs to be in the Aplications/DAZ 3d/ folder, or in the DOCUMENTS/Daz3d/ folder.( You will know because the intalled folder in the dektop has the names of the daz folders the files go in)
Thanks much for the reply, but as I open the installer it does'nt give me an option for changing the path. I'll try re-downloading and see what happens.

OK. I did that, but it only shows the highlighted ADD RUNTIME and not ADD FOLDER. Thanks for trying, SP. Appreciate it;-)

I'm not sure I follow what you mean, SP. I tried reloading some of the runtimes into Carrara but no go. Then I uninstalled Carrara, re-downloaded it and installed it again but to no avail.

Thanks Plutom for the reply.
Yes of course. Not a problem. It's just the runtime content that I had in Carrara before I installed DSA that can't be loaded. And it all started when I installed DSA.

Thanks for your reply, SS.
I have both required items and yes I've been using UberEvironment for quite awhile now.
Cheers
Thread: SSS...Suggestions? | Forum: Carrara
Quote - Hi :)
It largely depends on the lighting. I usually use a dark burgundy for color, intensity between 50-70%, Diffuse Reflection in the 90's, translucency 30-45%, refraction about 30%, Fresnel -- about 20%
But all that needs tweaking depending on the lighting. I also render SSS in the multi-pass layers, so that I can adjust intensity in postwork, and that takes care of a lot of tweaking.
Hope this helps.
Used your Settings and just tweaked from there and thanks everyone for all the great input. I'll post the finished product when ready and you can judge for yourselves. Cheerio;-)
