Subject: Reality_Rendering Cannot See My BG???

This might seem a bit obvious to some of you, but why can I not see my background when rendering in Reality? Must I texture a plane and use it?

Cheers;-)

I'm not sure about Reality but I know that DS will not render any image you load in as background. The image must be a texture in a plane. If Reality follows the DS convention then this would account for your missing background.

BTW always set you background to black before rendering. It makes a difference to the edges of your image that will slightly bleed in the background colour.

Hi Michael,

Renderosity doesn't render your background unless you put it on a plane, then make the plane Matt Transulent in Reality.

I find, however, that setting the alpha to PNG in the output settings window, it is very easy to layer in your background image.  Paolo has a couple videos on his website which address this.  http://www.preta3d.com

If you set the output type to JPG, D|S will render your background image just fine.

Ah! I see. I never use render as JPG. I always use render as PNG because of it's high quality to work with later in Photoshop. Thanks for clearing that up.
